Default Rotors

It's that time. I'm going to do rotors and pads on the front. I noticed when shopping it wants to know if it has "sport package" ? I'm guessing I don't have that?? Could someone tell me what that is ?? Adjustable hieght option ??

The Sport Package is the Touring package, which I believe comes with a more aggressive braking set-up and the wheels are 19".
Someone im sure will verify what ive just stated, but im pretty sure that's what it is. In the event you have a larger OEM set up, the rotors will be a larger diameter, thus pads will have more surface area.

As far as rotors go, Bendix makes a good rotor and of course, what many of us have used: Akebono pads.

I'm gonna go with NAPA Premium rotors and Adaptive One ceramic pads, both get good reviews. $300 for all.

Attached to the first post of this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...-ls-460-a.html are two pdf files for the installation of the front and rear pads. Make sure you disconnect the battery for 5 minutes prior to doing the brakes.

Thanks is150. I have read that post but why do you need to disconnect the battery ? I've read other posts where dyi has been done and no mention of this ? Just wondering.

This topic as well has been discussed in great depth amidst this forum.
There is NO NEED to unoplug the battery doing a brake/rotor change out.
Myself, Road Frog and Doublebase to name a few, have done our brake jobs and not disconnected the batt terminal.
The only time that is necessary is if you are disconnecting the caliper from the berake line.
But again, when replacing the rotors and pads, this step is not necessary.
Hope that helps.

I don't think it is the touring package. If you have the Sport edition LS, it came with Brembo front brakes which are larger than non Sport models. The rears are the same.
