Smile Pirelli's

Owned great set 10 years ago. Manufacturer allows you to to takeout up to 4 psi per tire to adjust for driving conditions! It worked! Max psi was 56psi. In winter took out 5 psi to allow tire flex for better contact with icy roads.--- I know, counter-intuitive .

You didn't own these tires 10 years ago, they've only been out a couple years.

Thanks for the pics, that's a real nice looking tire. Please keep us updated on your opinions of the tire as you get more miles.

That's more like it!

New tires always look a bit funky until they've been cleaned and dressed. The day they were put on, my new Continentals looked like someone had pulled them from under a pile of muddy used tires. A couple of cleanings and light dressings and they look great.

Default So Far Really Nice

Ok got 550 miles on the new tires. So far I am really thinking this was a good buy. Maybe a slightly higher road noise but nothing to bad. Great traction in really heavy rain. More when I get home next week.

Thanks DJWLDW for posting the pictures and the review. Looks better in low profile than in my ES. As you said, wet traction is amazing. In my case the tires really started shinning after about 1000miles - or could be the case that I stared settling with the tire . How is the handling - cornering and turning?.

What tires did you have before?.

Default The Handling is Great

The Handling is great and they hold in the curves like they are glued to the road. We had Goodyear Eagle RS-A2's. That is what was on the car when we bought the car last July. We got 27-30K out of them.

I'm concerned that you feel there might be slightly higher road noise than your Eagle RS-A2's...a tire that I would not expect to be particularly quiet...

I had RS-A2s on my previous car (a Pontiac G8) and they were terrible in every respect except durability. I would not recommend them as a benchmark (or maybe I would, if you just want any good tire to make you happy). They were particularly terrible with respect to wet traction and road noise, and had the grip I'd expect from a touring tire combined with the ride I'd expect from a performance tire.

The summer-only Contis I put on that G8, the Michelin AS/3s that came with my LS, and the Conti DWS06s I put on the LS are all leagues better.

Default Anyone tried the Pirelli CINTURATO P7?

That's my concern if he feels the Pirelli is a louder tire...

Default Clarification...

Are we talking about the Plus, or not? The reason I ask is because, the

Cinturato P7 All Season seems to get very poor feedback and low scores. But the

Cinturato P7 All Season Plus seems to be rated and reviewed as the best tire in the Grand Touring All Season category. I will be purchasing me a set of the ... Plus tires, as soon as all the crap in my house quits breaking and I have a chance to get it all whipped back in shape.

I've got too much BMX stuff going on right now to fix anything.

Default It Might Have Been My Ears

Just to be honest the road noise might have something to do with the fact that I have new hearing aids. It turns out my old hearing aids were not working. I can hear rain drops hitting the windows now and the birds out in the trees. They really have increased what I can hear. The DW did not think they were louder.

That might explain it!

I would expect them to be significantly quieter though, not just not louder.

You should go into the hearing aid store and throw a fit and tell them they made your car louder!
