Default Looking to order a 2016 LS460L

Just sold our 2005 LS430 SWB non air ride we bought new and drove for 10 years/ 250,000 miles. Ran flawlessly with literally nothing going wrong except the front parking sensors having to be replaced ( $750) and one shock absorber replaced ( $ 500). That's it. Just normal maintenance, timing chains replaced etc. Fabulous car.

So we're planning to order a new 2016 LS460L. Could use any guidance on air ride vs non air ride, ride difference on 18's vs 19's, and anything else you can think of. I do know about the control arms and bushings that have to be replaced around 100,000 miles at a Lexus dealer cost of about $5000 and the air shock replacement cost of $1200 per shock. For those that went the air shock route, how long do those shocks usually last before replacement and would you choose the air ride if you could do it all over again.

I live in the Charlotte, NC area, and would appreciate any guidance on what the going purchase price should be. Is invoice plus $1000 in the ball park or some other figure come to mind. Along those lines, who's are some good dealers on the east coast that have the best prices.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The 430 is an amazing car. It was the most reliable car I have owned. If you can wait Lexus is releasing a redesigned LS in 2017.

If you are planning to keep the car for long time, have you thought about trying to find a 2015 instead? I think there is no difference between 2015 and 2016. I am sure those would be on good deals at this time of the year. Finding a LWB might be a little tough though. Good Luck!

Yeah I'm aware that the 2017 is set for a new design. We do need a new car now or we would wait for the 2017. The plus for getting the 2016, is it's at the end of the 9 year production cycle and any issues have been worked out. We may not go 10 years this time with the 460, and may switch over to the new LS in about 4 years after it's been in production for awhile. We had never planned to keep the LS430 so long, but it kept running perfectly and we just didn't want to give it up. A family member wanted to get a lexus, so we gave it up.

Yeah I agree a leftover 2015 LWB would be a viable choice. Finding one in the right colors, options ( especially the dynamic cruise control which we had in our 430 is hard to find. After having that option, wouldn't buy a new car without it) etc , could be difficult. I'll be looking, but probably won't have much luck.

$1000 over invoice might be doable if you have a few competing dealers in your area.
