2007 SWB all stock. My break squeaks when backing up, specially backing down slope on a drive way. I also notice my right rear tire have tire wears which might be related to vibration at certain speed (like 76-80)
should I check the breaks? alignment? control arms?![Sad](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)
maybe time to search DYI on breaks and see if I can do it or not.

Is the brake sound only while backing up after you haven't driven the car for a while? If so it could just be slight humidity on the rotor while sitting, pad material (ceramic pads). If the squeal is every time you reverse I'd check pad thickness on both inside outside pads.
Have you tried re bedding your pads?
As for the rear tire wear I'd get an alignment.

It squeal often when reverse. My car is garaged, the only humidity I can think of is the dryer that runs on the weekend.
I have not tried anything yet, but thanks for your suggestions. Will do a bit search on re bedding pads first.
If I had to replace the tire(s), alignment will go after the tire(s) replacement right?

Dealer charged me $165 to inspect the breaks and told me they where fine, but want to do additional inspections to look for the sound. Like ball bearing or suspensions. Every inspections will have additional charges. I am about to give up on the dealer and take my car else where.
So far I can only describe heavy squeak on reverse when using the break and with some grinding feel.

The dealer charged you $165 to inspect the brakes and found nothing? I mean, is that even legal? What's legal anymore? Why the hell anyone goes there is so far beyond me that I might mention it the next time I have my physical.
Brakes squealing while backing up could be the hardware - but the dealer thieves should have cleaned and lubed those for $165 - it also could be the ebrake assembly. Maybe there's some rust buildup, etc, just take it to a local guy, there is no reason on earth to take it to a dealer for simple brake issues.

When I call the dealer for break pads prices, they told me to come in for a "free" break inspection. When I drop off the car, I found out inspection is free if I do break service there. I was feeling generous that day and thinking the worse case is paying them $$$ to do the breaks.
In the end I gave up on the dealer when they couldn't tell me a clear plan to find the problem.
I end up taking the LS460 to the local shop that I always bring my Honda and Acura in. Replaced the break pads and problem solved.
I was told my control arms and bushings are good. need to see if new tires will get rid of the vibration going between 74-80mph
lesson learned, never dealer again.
