I'm guessing the antenna. I have taken the head unit out on my LS430 and had issues with my antenna before. It is a very sensitive cable and didn't sit very well in the connector. I had to mess with it a few times. When you don't have the GPS lit, you are running in the DR mode. Works for a bit, but over time it is slightly off a few feet and it compounds over time.

How do I get out of dead reckoning mode and into gps mode in the navigation system on my 2007LS? Its working now since I took it in to my dealer but was just wondering about the 2 modes.

Thanks,
Harry

yes, its only been 4-5 days but I already see its off by a few feet. How do I get to GPS mode? I know I have signal because my little Garmin works fine in the car.( 2007 LS).I'm thinking that few feet is gonna get bigger as time passes as unsober1 says.

Thanks

My nav system has mysteriously fixed itself. Here's what happened:

Initially, all of a sudden it got lost. That is it was telling me I was 10 miles from where I really was. With help on here, I recalibrated. That worked for a few days then back to lost again. Took it to my dealer and he recalibrated. It worked fine for a while then got lost again. I scheduled another appointment to have it looked at and lo and behold its now working again BUT this time I have the GPS indicator at the top left of the screen. How can this happen that it goes from Dead Reckoning mode to GPS without any input from a human? Its now working perfectly. Any comments greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Harry
