LS460 wear tires out in 20k miles
less than 2 year ago, my LS460 got a set of new tires from costco: Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3, the tires has a tread life Warranty of 45k miles. the tires are pretty good, quiet, smooth, and good traction.
2 month ago, 20k miles after riding on the new tires, dealer found out that the tread depth of 4 tires are
front: 4/32, 4/32,
rear: 2/32, 5/32.
had to replace the rear two tires. the tire with 2/32 tread depth qualified for the warranty and partial reimbursement.
understand that the LS is a heavy car, maybe causing the tires to wear out earlier than expected. I had no problem getting new tires every other year for a basically half price though.
wonder if this also happens to your LS460?

Had the same problem om my 2008 LS. The original tires were down to the wear bars in 21,000 miles.
The next set were the Michelin Pilot Sports with 45,000 mile warranty - down almost to the wear bars in 22, 000 miles am Michelin gave us $585 off new Michelins.
Switched to Michelin Energy's with I believe 55,000 mile warranty. Have about 26,000 miles on them and they are down to between 3/32 and 4/32. I will stopping by the tire shop in the next couple of weeks for replacements.
My tires have been rotated every 5.000 miles and have worn pretty much evenly.

I chew through tires pretty quickly, but I attribute that to the fact that my control arms need to be replaced.

My bad control arms caused my previous tires (Michelin AS/3) to wear rapidly on the inner edges. Don't know how long they were on, but they were the second set of tires on the car and it had only 44,000 miles on it.

The LS is very heavy. Mine used to go through tires in 15-18. Still better than my ISF at 5-7k for the rear and 12 for the front . Its the same for our 2012 Sienna Limited. It destroys tires. I recommend sticking with a tire that will provide a warranty to offset the cost.
