Just had my 30k service done, my P7s which were put on when the car had about 300 miles on it are reading 6/32nds. I replace tires at 4/32nds so my guess is I'll get 40k or so on them.

Don't they have a 70,000 mile treadwear warranty? If so, you should get a 30%-40% discount?

70,000 miles to the wear bars, which are 2/32nds. I’m sure I could push them to 70k but I notice rain and snow traction falls off quick at 4/32nds which is when I replace them

Does anyone happen to recall what the tread depth was on the P7+ after the first 5K-mile tire rotation? I did not capture that in my records. I know the tires start at 10/32nds when new.

Just had tires rotated on the Model S for the first time (5K miles), exact same P7+ 245/45/19 and I'm already down to 8/32nds. The S is about 10% heavier and there's the extra torque but I don't drive it that hard (anymore). The America's Tire tech said the first few 32nds wear quicker but I don't recall the LS 460 shaving off as much tread after 5K miles.

I wouldn't worry about it, they definitely wear more at first.

The new P7 Plus 2 has 11/32nds of original tread.

Did you put on new tires? I have a bulge on the sidewall of one of my front tires and will need to replace at least 2 tires. I have the Pirelli Cinturato AS+ (I think). Have about 24k miles on these tires.

Is this new Pirelli the replacement for the AS Plus? I will need to make a quick decision before my sidewall blows out. It’s definitely between Pirelli or Michelin.

Not yet, I haven't gotten around to it. The "2" is the replacement for the AS+. If you look at the recent reviews, Michelin doesn't really have an impressive tire in this class. The other tire I would consider is the Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack.

Is yours AWD? If so gotta replace all 4.

The Pirelli are definitely cheaper than Michelin, at least on tire rack. I will probably go with the P7 AS Plus II, but need them fast.

Ah yes......a tire thread........there is a lot that can be learned here.....nice work guys. Well I will report that on my run around car a 2006 Acura RL I had the P7s + installed and these wonderful tires transformed this car. Just like they did on my 04 LS430....smooth and quiet which really allows me to enjoy my ride.

I wish my 2016 ES350 had P7s on it.....as a twist of fate it came with Michellins.......nothing wrong with Ms but as such a strong supporter of the P7s its hard to use anything else.

Steve.....too bad your car has 19's.....heck I would scoop your old P7s off of you and run those last miles off of them But I feel the same way you do...life is too short to drive 25k miles on worn tires........list them on Craigslist and get 100 for them...consider it a coupon towards your new set.

Not even worth the hassle. I'm at 36k now and they're at 4-5/32nds depending on where in the tread, so its time. I was waiting for the "2" to come out before I pulled the trigger on new tires. This is an oooold thread, this was my previous LS460 even lol

Even if I had the 18s tire sizes arent the same

I am getting the P7 Plus II’s installed tomorrow afternoon. Shop did not have them in stock but can get them for tomorrow. I was going to order through tire rack for $924.38 delivered with tax, but the local tire shop was only $1,032.xx and that includes mounting and road force balancing. I need to add another $105 for full alignment. The good thing is if I have any problems with a slight defect, the tire shop will get the tire and replace ASAP. I had a bad experience with Rock Auto, so am a little gun shy ordering parts online. Their return process is a disaster.

Hopefully these new Pirelli’s are great. Will report back.

Yes, it will be interesting to get your feedback. I just got new P7's last April, so it will be a while before I need new tires.
