I don't think worn bushings explains this problem. This is the third set of tires on the car. The first set lasted 22,000 miles. The second set lasted 26,000. The tires were replaced by the dealership, and the inner edges showed all the wear. Seeing what should be an obvious alignment problem, I believe the dealership would have rigorously checked the control arms and bushings, especially as this would indicate the bushings were bad from the get-go. Can anyone think of a reason a Lexus dealership would willfully ignore worn components and risk a potentially dangerous situation? We talked to the dealership's tire specialist and our service rep at length. They insist the car is tip-top and the alignment within specs, even though the toe is set up as if it's a track racer. What's really weird is their insistence the tire warranty is invalid in the case of uneven wear...and that uneven wear is standard for this luxury automobile.

I have a 2010 Lexus LS460 AWD that continually wears the front tires on the inside. I had my Lexus dealer in MD (at that time) do an alignment, but the service department also indicated that all the LS460s have the same problem. I rotate the tires front to rear every 5K miles, but it appears I will be buying more tires than originally planned. I just installed new Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires yesterday at 50K miles, but I do not expect anything to change.

Any dealer or alignment shop who say that LS460 tires wearing unevenly is normal are full of it. AWD makes no difference, tires can, should, and do (on our 2 LS460s) last 50,000 miles, wearing evenly the entire time. When the tires are replaced at 50k, they still have at least 1/4 tread depth left.
