Some A Hole opened their door into mine? Thoughts on cost repair?
So I take my little sister to the mall today to take her shopping for Xmas and I come out to this damage on my door. Any opinions on costs to fix? Only asking because I'm debating if I call my insurance or not. My deductible is $500.00. The bottom one is the worst as it has a tiny dent.
TIP!!! Do not try buffing out unless you are experienced because you may do major damage to the clear coat.

BEST ADVICE is to have this done by a PDR pro! A "Ding King" (hot glue dent remover kit) and a can of rubbing compound can make a "simple repair" go from bad to worse very quickly...... Please don't try!!
Call your Lexus stealership to see if they can reccommend a PDR guy if you have a hard time finding one on your own.
He's not going to do major damage to the clear coat using Meguiars Ultimate Compound by hand. MUC is pretty mild, its not a "can of rubbing compound", its a liquid scratch remover product.
He's taking about fixing the scuff marks, not the ding.

My sincere apologies for "slinging improper advice"...... Just trying to help a Lexus Bro from doing damage to his SOFT Lexus clear coat. Sadly, I "assumed" that anything that "cuts" may do damage to a clear coat if improperly used by the inexperienced.
I am very experienced (over 40 years) with machine correcting and detailing paint so I was just suggesting to leave the OP's repair to a pro after seeing the pix....... But hey it's his car and he can feel free to do whatever anyone suggests.
BTW! Using the Meg's fine polish (very mild) with a MS rag works well for MINOR scuffs....... Clay bar would also be a suggestion for "cleaning" the paint after washing prior to "buffing" the scuffs or bug splatter. Sometimes a waterless wash or tar remover will remove minor scuffs...... Always start with the LEAST "aggressive" abrasive product and work up from there, remember to always use a clean well made micro fiber towel and you can get them at The Rag Company in bulk for cheap.
Thanks guys. I'm definitely not attempting to get the small dent out. Already in contact with someone. He wants to see pictures after the attempt to get the scuffs out. My detail guy should be here shortly. I'll update later today.
People are so disrespectful of other people's property. Whenever my wife complains that I parked my LS or Legend five minutes' walk from the store entrance, I show her threads like this and she remembers why I do it. My condolences and I hope the fix comes out satisfactory.
