Default New member - Looking for an LS460 sport

Hello everyone,
I am looking for some info on the LS460 with the sport package as I am in the market for one. As far as I can tell, the package was introduced in 2010 and laster until 2012. In 2013 the F sport came out. I am ideally looking for a 2010-2012 as it is more within my budget and I am not crazy about the newer look. I have owned an IS-F before as well as a GS F sport, so I am familiar with the brand.
This will be our second car and I plan on putting around 5-6K per year. Hoping to find a CPO in the next 1-2 months. My question is: how rare are these cars? Des anyone know how many were produced overall in the 3 years? What are my odds of finding one CPO from now till March? I just missed one locally that sold rather quickly, and currently there is one in my state but is priced rather high. I am in CA.
Thanks!

If you're willing to expand your search radius (i.e. fly to another location and drive it back) I think it would be realistic for you to find one between now and March...HOWEVER maybe not a CPO. I don't know the numbers but very few here in Texas are sport package. To find a sport model that is CPO would be rare indeed...

Thank you for the fast feedback!
Actually there is one in Northern CA about 300+ miles away. a 2012 CPO with 40K miles for 43K... seems really high but maybe I don't know the actual market. I checked on manheim auctions and the most expensive 2012 sold for 36K about 30 days ago. Any thoughts on the 43K price?

The price seems reasonable to me.
I just paid $41.5k for a non-sport 2012 CPO with 41.3k miles in the Dallas area.

43k seems like a starting point. I bet you could get it for 40k, which seems reasonable for a CPO.

Keep in mind that the Sport comes with air suspension and you will eventually (~100k) need to do strut replacement, which is a whole lot more expensive with air than without. Those wheels are gorgeous, though.

Wow good to know about the struts. What am I looking at cost wise at that point vs. a non air suspension LS460?

Good to know. Thank you for that info. How do you like your car so far?

I may be wrong but I believe the air struts come standard on the sport models.

this is the car for you to consider to buy. it was bought as a Lexus CPO however the current owner bought the platinum extended warranty that was extended to 7 yrs/100k miles and is transferable. I found this car after buying my car right before Thanksgiving but would have bought it and shipped it back East had it popped up sooner.

Its a sport too which is nice. I haven't physically seen the car but the sport interior only has 2 real options with leather color and i prefer the black versus the 2 tone black and brown

hope this help!

Welcome. Take your time and keep looking every day. Something will surface to fit your needs. The link above looks pretty good if you're ok with the exterior color. I took my time when looking for mine and I'd say within 3 months I found it. Good luck.

Members who have replaced air struts have talked about costs of around $1000 per strut, probably around three times the cost of the same surgery on a non-air LS. At your level of mileage accumulation, though, you shouldn't have to face that expense for a few years at least.

You can try searching on E-bay, cars.com, cargurus.com., etc. A CPO LS 460 sport shouldn't be that difficult to find.

Thank you. I think blue is nice but need to see in person. I prefer black...

I contacted the owner of this car. Seems like they are the second owner but auto check shows 3 owners oldie enough... perhaps the Lexus dealership which certified the car was considered the 2nd owner.

Also, owner damaged the right front fender due to hitting something in the garage (saw the photos). They repaired the damage but I am wondering if the repainting of a fender brings the car value down. Any thoughts on this from members would be appreciated.
