I finally did it
Good morning everyone. After numerous trips to various dealerships, test driving Audi A8 and Jaguar XJ, I finally traded my 2004 Lexus LS430 with 303,300 miles for a 2011 LS460 sport with 39,000 miles. The dealership offered me $5,000 for my 430 and i couldn't walk away from their offer. It has a black exterior with the two-tone black/saddle brown interior. I must say it's a beautiful car. I find myself admiring my car when I pull up in my driveway, drop my kids off at school, or park on my way to work. The only slight issue is that the breaks squeal, which I have read is a well known issue. What do you guys recommend? My car is still under factory warranty.

Congratulations! You got a great car. As I've read, the 2011 was the year Lexus got it all right. Plus the sport, black exterior and that awesome interior, you hit it on the nail head. As long as you're under warranty, run it in to the dealership and have those brakes checked. Of course, you really don't have a 2011 Sport officially until you post lots of photos of "said" car! lol

Lol. You're right. Once I get off work I'll definitely take some pics. By the way, Lexus/Toyota has greatly restricted selling extended warranties across state lines. I called some of the contacts our great members have recommended in older posts and they told me I have to either go to their dealership and purchase it directly or live in the same state as the dealership in order for me to purchase one. Is anyone aware of this?

Congrats!
And 300,000 on your LS430 is quite an accomplishment...that's some serious driving. What did you have to do for repairs? And are you planning on putting 25k miles a year on the LS460?

1 rear strut, O2 sensor, 1 alternator, radiator and radiator fan, brake caliper, and my touchscreen navigation wasn't responsive when I pressed it consistently.
Right before I traded it in the Y-pipe had to be replaced and code p2714 came up. (Solenoid d, valve body issue code)
And yes, I'll probably put up similar miles on this 460.

The repairs I had were during my 7 years of ownership of the 430 were as follows:
