I'm of the "let someone else take the depreciation hit" variety. I bought a 2012 CPO LS for $40,000 less than its window sticker price last May, and have been more than happy with it. If I did want to sell it, it would be like I had been driving a $400/month lease because the depreciation curve has flattened out so much. Very, very satisfying.

Neither a BMW or MB will hold the resale value from the prices out there. And, too many problems even if covered by a warranty.

The confusing exchange is on handling - the LS is a big car and while the F Sport has a fun suspension hard to imagine it would out perform a GS-F or an RC-F.

Tough comparing across the models when they offer different features. Wait a year and get the LC500????
Well.... I'm really tired of my GS 350. The handling and suspension just plain suck. On soft cornering if you go over a bump you literally feel the car shift sideways! It's just abad ride.

Other than that the GS 350 is a great car

I have leased a 120K+ German cars, but I would never purchase one...
Bada bing bada boom!

ANd therein lies my fear. As I stated earlier - I bought a 2009 S63 AMG in late 2009 for $125k, drove it for about 4 years and by late 2013 I decided to sell with barely 12k miles .....because it just felt dated (mainly the interior nav, etc). The car was in SHOWROOM condition. Leather even smelled brand new. Not a speck on the car.

Could not even get 65k! Ended up selling it to a dealership for $62k

Have you driven a new GS? The platform and handling, ride and dynamics are much improved over your 08.

I know

Just want a bigger car... with a better road presence....and with German-like handling (yeah, I know I know... but hoping LS FSport can give me some BMW-like handling)

What is this performance and handling you speak of??? Each day I make immaculate lane changes with my F-Sport during my hour long 12 mile trip...

A car is not an investment, unless you held on to your 57 Chevy or such. When you buy a vehicle, it's nothing more than a place to get from point A to point B. How you look when getting from point A to point B is the question. Depending on your tax bracket, you can ride in a variety of vehicles. One of which is a Lexus LS460. Some can afford to buy new off the showroom floor, other can not. Hence, the sweet deals on used rides.

I personally prefer the lovely smell of previous depreciation in a used car when I ride down the road. I for one, do not want to buy something that loses a considerable amount of money the moment I drive it off the showroom floor. In fact, chances are when you drive a used one off the parking lot, it's worth less. It's a car.

I look at it this way: I just bought a 2014 LS460 F-Sport w/ 5k miles for $30k less than it original sold for 2 years ago. People ask me, hey did you buy a new car? My answer is yes I did, only the minute I bought it someone came up to me and offered me $1,250 a month a drive it just 50 miles a week for 2 years so I said sure thing! I just got it back the other week. It actually still has the new car smell as well.

I know what you're talking about and yes, I too want to buy a 1 yr. used LS FSport. The problem is that I can't seem to find the silver/atomic silver with black or cabernet interior.

Atomic silver didn't come on the LS until 2016. No cabernet on the LS F Sport at all. in 2013 the F Sport only came with black, 2014-2016 it can be had with Flaxen as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the F-Sport only comes in black or tan and real aluminum inside right?

It's all relative. Is this the color scheme you want? Did you prefer the LED or HID headlights? Is AWD a necessity?
