Was going to buy a new LS; just bought a 2012 LS LWB!
I'm in the club now! (:
I have been driving an 07 GS that I bought new in 2007, and it has 215k miles on it. I have been hemming and hawing about buying a new LS LWB, and have been to the dealership multiple times to purchase, but every time I ended up walking away. I just don't love the new LS. My two primary dislikes are 1) the downgraded control system (you have to use this silly joystick instead of the superior touch screen) and 2) that new grill they are putting onto the front of the cars. To me it is ugly and looks like a fat ballerina.
So I got to thinking about getting a previous gen that has the touchscreen and a more refined front end. I ended up getting a 2012 LWB with 34K miles on it. It is black/black, and has comfort package, navigation, Mark Levinson, radar cruise control, park assist, variable air suspension, run flats, and a few other options I haven't figured out yet. It is in near mint condition. I have just owned it a day, but drove across the state yesterday and I have to say, it is a great, comfortable, quiet, relaxing ride. I put it in comfort mode, turned on the radar cruise control, and basically just chilled out for 200 miles.
The L version must be very rare because there are so hard to find. There are only 3-4 at a time in my whole state.
Definitely an upgrade from my GS. The feel of driving this car is very present and stately, and the body styling and look of the car matches that feeling to a T. It looks large and royal and I am proud as hell to drive it.
Thanks for listening!

Nice choice. I think the year is spot on. Best of the best. Black on black happens to be my particular favorite as my car is the same. Never hurts to get all the bells and whistles you can either. Gratz!

Congrats! The LS 460 is a beautiful, quiet, solid and a reliable automobile. It's a pleasure to drive and it turn heads. So drive and enjoy, it's truly is a great automobile.

You are going to love the LS 460L. I have driven both the 460 and the 460L on long trips and I found the 460L a much smoother ride. Now the 460L is a RWD and 460 was a AWD. The 460 AWD has air and the 460L does not.

Congratulations!
However, I won't believe it until I see pictures...
And to add to this, air on the 460L only takes it up another notch! That is one nice vehicle, JimK2 (and I still want to admire it in pictures!).
