Yeah, that's exactly why I'm agonizing over it. If I was super rich, I wouldn't care and just buy them. I don't mind spending that much, but this is a one-shot, get-it-right-the-first-time deal as I'm not super rich, although I wish I was!

Heck, I had to sell some stocks last year due to a gigantic, unexpected home expense (new roof which cost me a fortune due to solar panels), but I actually lucked out and timed it right before the market started to crash, but the only downside is that I may have a big tax bill.

Here's another tip: if you're getting solar panels installed, it is HIGHLY recommended to get your roof replaced first, even if you are a decade away from needing it done. I made the mistake of not doing that, trying to save money and it cost me.

+1 $40,000 roof on my office last year!
Always see the wheels on car first. The can look great on display and lousy on the car!

Lol, well it's ironic that this thread came back from the depths.

I just did my taxes yesterday and it wasn't pretty and coincidentally just purchased some wheels online not less than a minute ago.

I ended up going with the most plain, boring, conservative choice out there: brand new OEM 19s at $500 a pop. I ordered through that Lexus parts online website from my local dealer. I had to force myself to hit the PLACE ORDER button, haha. Another reason I went this way as I just dropped over $3k on a latex mattress. So it was either expensive wheels or cheap, safe-choice wheels and a new mattress as I've been having back pains lately. So I ended up doing the latter.

Well, that's that. It's done. Ordered four center caps as well. I may actually order ONE cheap refurbished wheel of the same style as a spare, but for now I ordered four new and will be keeping my OEM 18 spare in the trunk. As soon as they come in, I'm going to order those P7 plus tires.

My old wheels and tires are available. Less than 1500 miles on them. Feel relieved it's over with and I have to be happy about my choice regardless now, lol.

I think that was the right choice. Sorry about the back trouble!

Yeah, after I thought about it more, comfort prevailed over vanity. If I were younger, vanity would have won and I would be on $6k 20 inch wheels. I think I made the right choice. Plus, that new mattress was the ultimate deciding factor. I could have got the expensive wheels even after the ugly tax bill, but I needed that mattress.

Another major consideration was the hubcentric, dummy-proof wheels that OEM's offer. The only way to get wheels that are bored specifically for this car is OEM or custom forged to our center-bore that cost thousands per wheel.

I don't want to have to worry about some clumsy tech forgetting to put back on the hub rings during tire changes or tire rotations. Going lugcentric and not having the wheels properly centered can cause issues as far as I'm concerned.

Lol. Come on now, don't give me second thoughts!

Actually, I'm happy. Sometimes I weigh too many factors into my decision and this is/was definitely one of them for sure! The conservative side won. The "old man" won. The "not-having-to-worry" won. The "checkbook" won. My lower back won. My "I wan't 20 inch wheels" lost. That "look" lost. That curb appeal, lost. Oh well.

I think you didn't want to buy used right? I'm sure you could've gotten take offs for a song in the classifieds if your were patient. You live in Cali wheel a majority of custom car industry is located!

Yeah cause at under $2k I'm looking at a spare set of forged wheels for my F-Sports myself! Heck I might buy the black powdercoated wheels for my summer tires when I'm not running my summer tires...
