New to the group! Just bought my first Lexus (2012 LS460). It came down between the LS460 and the 2012 CLS50 Benz. The Lex won out. Didn't know how sneaky fast the LS460 was. Happy I made that move!

Been trying to get this done for over a month now. But LS is 2009 LWB, Truffle Mica exterior with beige interior. Purchased with 89000 miles. Has the comfort PKG. My rain rails are peeling. Had it for about two months now. The power, the comfort, the ML sound. I'm loving it. Want to do some appearance mods. Minor like wheels may update lighting but right now I'm good. May wind up ordering new rain rails from factory. Im told that some have been left natural, as in bare chrome, can't seem to picture that.
Just had windows tinted
Still deliberating on that. Tried to upload photos but having a problem. Will continue trying though. Thanks. I like the forum. Loads of information.

NICE! Did you have any issues with the tints being installed? I hear some tint shops do not do LS460's because it's a pain to do.

Newbie
St.Clair here, purchased a 2016 LS new and enjoying it immensely! Atomic Silver with saddle brown interior. Seeking to modify interior in a classy way...please share modifications. So far, tinted windows, air blue windscreen, purchased leather floor mats, Lexus logo image puddle lamps, and ordered pocket organisers. Wanted to join a group of enthusiasts!
Thanks
Thanks

Hey folks, Erik in Louisiana.
Pretty sure I just scored the least expensive clean LS460 in the country - 2007, 60,000 miles, mercury metallic with black int., comfort package, ML audio, parking assist - $14,400 out the door. PPI was clean although it needs a brake job. This one also suffers from the dreaded melting vinyl arm rests. But I plan on getting them re-covered. And I'm not thrilled with the rims but I can't be too picky for that price. I'm a happy camper

Hello World
Day 1. Was just about to put 400 miles on her, on a trip to KS to meet (and surprise) the gf. We both enjoyed the trip back. 800 miles in 2 days, no problem.

Hello to All.
About a year and a half ago, while sitting around the table at a restaurant, a friend asked the icebreaker question: if you could have any kind of car, what would you have?
My answer? Something big, comfortable, and reliable.
My cousin responded, you want an LS460L! We did see a few rolling around, and I talked to an owner who loved it. But, as an educator, an older model is all I can afford (for now). So, after shopping around at cargurus for awhile, I finally test drove a local vehicle. Long story short, picked up my 2008 LS460 with just 100,800 miles for $14,500. Even came with a spare set of snow tires!
How much do I love it? Well, let me put it this way: previously, I had an 82 Collector Edition Corvette. Seems like something broke EVERY time I took it out. Finally, I sold it to a guy in Germany with a body shop. Paint job would have cost more than the car did. In just 3 months, I have put 7,000 miles on the LS460, which is more than I put on in three YEARS with the Vette. So far, nothing has broken, although I did get a 1 inch bumper scratch somehow.
Happy Motoring y'all!

New Lexus Owner
So I have always admired the durability of Toyota. I have owned a number of fine cars, last two were Mercedes Benz. After thousands of dollars in repairs and maintenance, I decided to try my luck with Lexus, after all bullet proof right? Boy have I ever swallowed something bad. A 2008 Lexus Ls460 65k miles "cream puff". Only problem is, Brake actuator failed after being replaced in December of 2016. Come on! Really? A bullet proof car, first time out, is a total lemon. The fix or repair was useless. I have read through the forums only to find there was a repair, and update to the actuator that allegedly fixes the continual problem Lexus has had but even the replacement parts are bad. I could always save some money and buy an acuator online, but what good would that do? The replacement actuators are bad as well? I called Lexus to see if they would possibly do a goodwill repair, but no. Top it off by finding out the control arms are also bad and they too have a history of being problematic. Why Lord, what did I do to deserve this misery? At least throwing money into Mercedes for the past 10 years the car worked, but this problem does not go away.
Is there an actual fix to these two problems or does Lexus ever stand behind their vehicles? I now own a 4,000 lb lawn ornament. Any suggestions? So far VERY disappointed in Lexus and their quality. At least my interior hasn't melted yet. I am not here to complain, but how would any of you feel if you changed brands of cars you have owned for years only to have this happen right out of the gate.

Honestly, just wrapping up the buy today from my hotel in Saudi Arabia. When I return to the states next week, I will take delivery and start my journey with it. The only thing I don't like about the car thus far is the grill. If anyone has tips on where to get a replacement, please let me know! Thanks... :-)

Hi, I just picked up a 2013 LS460 AWD deep blue mica with a caramel colored interior. 65,000 miles. It is my second LS460, previously I had a 2011 AWD. I love this car, but without the ML I find it lacking in sound (my previous LS had it). I'm planning on replacing all of the speakers and adding aftermarket amplifiers. I have a 4 channel memphis m-class amplifier, a Sundown audio 2000watt mono-block and a Memphis mojo 12" rebuilt by PSI audio. Also an Alpine PXA-H800 sound processor from my previous leased daily driver (had to be as ginger as possible on the install, no playing with the dash, so it would be removable). I would be buying all new components. Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the opportunity to be a member here.
