Default Question regarding classifieds here @ CL

Well, now that I have my wheels, I would like to utilize the classifieds here.

I'm curious, what are the requirements to post and sell in the classifieds? I've never sold or purchased anything here before, so I really don't have a voucher? Is that totally necessary? Any other requirements?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the voucher would be more like a qualified member who'd literally "vouch" for you so that your post is approved to sell. However, it does look you were already a member for a few months and got some good amount of posts so you should be good.

Here's a link to the rules:

What does everything think I should seek for my old OEM 18s? I mean, they're flawless. I only have 1500 miles on the car. Reasonable value?

Which wheels do you have? Would like to replace my factory alloys with some chrome factory wheels.

Chromish, but not really chrome (Hyper black or hyper silver) and I would prefer to abide by the rules and not discuss it here. Pm me and I can send you pictures or you can wait until I post the ad here on CL's classifieds after I get them off next Saturday.

You selling with or without tires? I'd guess $800 without and $1,100-1,200 with tires.

Thanks. I honestly can't decide whether to keep those tires. I'm contemplating having the shop de-mount them and junk them, even though there's only 1500 miles on them. Wretched Michelin HX's and it would easier for me to store and ship without tires.

Junk or keep those tires on them? Think people would be more inclined with or without those tires?

You should be able to sell those tires separately, I wouldn't just junk them. But I get what you're saying, you can't have 4 tires sitting around the garage/shed and you don't want to sell the rims with them. What size are they?

235/50R18.

The only reason I want to yank the tires off the rims is strictly for space. I'm stuffed. I just spent the last month getting rid of my storage and my garage and shed are both full.

If I could sell them immediately, sure I would just set them in my backyard, but assuming I don't, I don't have room for four rims and tires.

Sounds like you should have gone with a bigger shed? Or make the DW park her car outside which ever would be most cost effective.

Definitely try to sell them with the ties first. Again, you live in the largest market so try listing them before considering storing them but why store something destined to depreciate over time? If I were you I'd get rid of them ASAP

Bigger shed is in the works! I'm getting a tough shed built this spring I hope.

But in the meantime, I called the tire shop and they will offer me up to $40 per tire depending on tread life and I would imagine with 1500 miles on them I'll get that. If so, then they can take them. I honestly don't want to deal with them, transport them or ship them. Just easier for me to handle and ship the wheels and wheels alone.

I went to the Uhaul store today and got industrial size shrink wrap in a huge roll and plan on shrink wrapping these things completely to transport back in my clean car and also provide a way to safely store for now, lol. Btw, Uhaul stores are awesome places to get tarps, industrial plastic bags, bubble wrap and 24"x1000' rolls of shrink wrap for dirt cheap lol. Mummified wheels incoming!
