Default Problem with Nav System

Hey good ppl. I'm having an issue with my Nav system. I'm not sure if its going out or if it's due to the cold weather but it doesn't immediately come on when I start the car. At some point while I'm driving I'll notice that it's on and working but it seems to also be intermittently switching between the day and night time screen mode. Any advice on how to check to determine if it needs to be replaced or if there is a fix? Thanks in advance.

The entire screen is blank or just the Nav portion?

I would personally take it in and get it checked out.

I've not heard about this type issue. Wonder if a plug is loose back there. Certainly take it in for an inspection.

I took it in and they couldn't find anything wrong but when I start the car for the first time in the morning the screen is on but the nav doesn't work. Everything else works but the map.

If you start the car in the morning, then hit the Map button what actually comes up on the screen? In my 2009 its the usual warning legal disclaimer screen followed by the actual functional map a few seconds later.

I would think that the dealer could force a reset on the whole nav system which might resolve this. Disconnecting your battery for 30 mins then reconnecting might also be an option to try.
