Default Rear hissing sounds after brake job

I replaced rear pads with akebomo and installed centric premium rotors but in the morning I hear a very loud noise (as loud as as a steam locomotive :-) for the first few times I press on the brake, then the sound goes away. After that, no hissing sound all day until next morning. I used a brake silencer spray on the back of the pads but to no avail. I had the mechanic lube the pins twice but in vain. Noise went away for 3 days and came back.
I was told to go with OEM pads with shim. Since I never heard anyone complaining about this issue with akebomo pads before i was wondering if this the correct solution and where is the best place to get those OEM pads?

Most of the time brake noise is coming from the pad material. Im not saying this is your noise but the two times I tried Akebomo pads I had to remove them for noise. Just plain old Autozone or Advance Auto Parts $40 to $50 pads work the best and Ive put them on all kinds of cars a lot, including my LS400 and 460 now. Good luck. Also those stores will take anything back anytime but I've never had to return pads.

Thanks, so do you need the shim kit as well if you buy the pads from autozone/kragen?

I have change my pads before. If you by a lower priced kit, some don't come with hardware, and the higher priced sometimes does. I DO however recommend replacing your hardware. I bought a set of pads with no hardware, and I noticed a slight rattle at lower speeds and when I press the brakes slightly, the rattle would go away. Knew it had to be the hardware. Got on eBay and bought some, notice went away. They Are many topics on here about this type of noise, and the brake pad hardware has been the solution. My recommendation is sent the extra $10 for the hardware or buy a set that comes with the pads.

I got the new hardware installed along with the akebomo pads but that didn't prevent the hissing noise. Not sure if the OEM shim kit is a must vs buying only the brake pads from autozone/kragen but i really want to get rid of that noise. I saw that the OEM pads from online lexus dealer are in ~$90 with OEM shim kit shipped, i guess i will try that next.

What's interesting is that i replaced the front rotors with Bendix along with new Akebomo pads and the front brake are not making an hissing noise...

The pads usually come with shims. You need to buy the thick black or orange paste to paint everything that doesn't touch the pad material. All contact points and both sides of the shims. Manufactures pads are good for no noise but they usually turn your wheels black.

Thanks Kennyr44, I'll try that. I would rather have the wheels black than that hissing sounds.
