Buying advice 07-08 ls460 better mileage really worth the extra money?
Hello Club Lexus I'm in the market for a 07 - 08 LS 460 down here in South Florida they're running for about 15 to 18k with 100- 120k miles and for 50-70k miles they're running for about 19-22k is it worth spending a few grand more it would only make about a $80 difference in the monthly payment but will I save in the long run and maintenance. I'm trying to break my penny pinching habits because you end up spending it later most of the time.
I've searched but haven't been able to come a answer. But I'm ready to get this car.

It depends...what repairs have already been made? If you can get one with 100k miles and the control arms and recalls have been done?? Plus if it has good tires and brakes? It might be worth going with the higher miles to save a few bucks. I find with these cars the only real problems are the control arms and the brake actuator, once you get past those parts it's pretty much just maintenance.

I'd pocket the extra coinage and get the higher mileage, especially if the CA's have been done. I'm THAT confident in the reliability. I have over 100k blissful miles on my car and haven't spent an unexpected dime on it except for a water pump. Even the CA''s are original and as far as I can tell, are fine.

ive found the sweet spot on the LS to be around 160k miles. high enough to be affordable, low enough to not be wore out, and more than likely everything that was going to break has been replaced already. that's the formula ive always gone by and its worked for me with 5 LSs since 2001.

Guess it depends on your threshold of pain. While 100,000 miles on an LS460 is chump change for the most part, it will be a 7 or 8 year old car. I see no problem buying a high mileage car so long as you have a contingency fund for repairs.

Whichever one you get it will put a big ole' smile on your face and be worth the coin spent. My opinion is the 50k car with a a one or two year warranty to get past any little neglected repair

No luck today even with 3 accidents. One going through a gate with front end damage the lexus dealer would not budge on the price which is a little above market.
The car is nice, best looking one so far. but even with after paying for warranty from lexus I couldn't pull the trigger just yet.

If you've owned European, your threshold for pain is already quite high. Going to Lexus will be a revelation.

I just traded in my 08 GS350, 87k miles for $14,000! (could have sold privately for $17k probably?)
If that's the kind of hit the LS takes then I probably just made a real dumb move buying a '15 LS460 F Sport with 10k miles for $69,800!

There's a damn good reason why BMW offers free roadside assistance. I'm like, really? I need that? Why???
