Thumbs up! Surprisingly many people still believe all gasoline is the same regardless of what brand you buy.

One thing I noticed about this car is that it seems to get better average fuel economy driving upwards of 70 vs 60-65. Gearing is pretty great.

I buy gas at: Costco, Flying J or Shell period. Never have had any problems.

I always go Chevron. I personally have had bad experiences with Shell. I figure why not use Techron every time I fill up the tank so Chevron it is. I think Texaco also uses Techron, not sure.
One thing about our cars is the very high compression ratio. Any car with compression ratios greater than 11:1 is going to be really susceptible to low-octane or bad gas in my opinion, or at least more susceptible versus cars with lower compression ratios. 11:1 or higher is really high and requires a slow-burning gas (i.e., high octane). Most newer naturally-aspirated engines run at these very high compression ratios and thus require good gas to operate nominally.
Any sign of knock, even small ones that might not be perceptible to us, will kick in the knock sensor and thus reduce engine power. If it's severe enough, we'll get a CEL and potentially damage the engine. That's why I don't penny-pinch on fuel, at all and always use Chevron.

I left her at home. hahaha She didn't come for a couple reasons. 1. She had a mid term for her masters. Its her last class before she finishes. 2. I get slightly cranky when I'm tired, and I knew I'd be incredibly tired so she didn't feel too bad about staying home. It was such a last minute thing, that I was lucky to be able to go. Being the boss is nice.

Could not agree with you more. We also had 3 sons and now we have 2 GS's and 5 GD's. So much more drama on the girl side.
