I am well on my way towards my next 5K interval. Dealer says synthetic blend is fine with 5K intervals. Full synthetic up to 10K intervals (Which I'm iffy about)

After a 30 second silence on my end, I told her I had NO problem paying the cost difference but $110 is insane and I felt she was taking advantage of a customer who purchased a car from them. When I explained that the labor would be the same no matter what they were adding to the crankcase she still said $110 and explained this is the COMPLIMENTARY price because the car does not require synthetic oil.
I know Lexus service at the dealer is stupid, outrageous costly and this is why I purchased the extended warranty BUT charging $110 for the difference in synthetic oil on a complimentary oil change is robbery. Needless to say I will change my own oil and will NEVER walk into this dealership again.
I believe it all depends on the dealer. I took my 2011 CPO LS for first complimentary service. I bought it at around 26k I went for service today at 31k
The dealer after talking to Lexus did the 30k mile service free of charge as part of one the four L/Certified free services. The dealer told me typically its a $500 service. I was told that 2011is still on 5k mile oil change interval and they would do this free for next three services as well. They put synthetic oil. While I was there, I also made an oil change appointment for 2015 GX and they quoted me $95 for that. I did not buy the vehicle from my local dealer. Any dealer can honor CPO complimentary service

What a rip off.
Get the free complimentary oil change then replace the oil with synthetic when you get home.
You can buy a 5 QT jug of Pennzoil 0W20 synthetic oil for less than $30.

My complimentary synthetic oil change was free.
The Lexus dealership I go to charges $129 for oil / oil filter change.
$7.51 per qt 0W20 synthetic oil.

After my complimentary oil changes I ordered a case of filters for my CT200h. Walmart supplies the oil - cost me 30.00 total. Ebay supplies the filters....

Dealerships also check alignments and do some other electronic checks too iirc - also wash and vacuum the car. - mine does anyway. Worth the extra 80.00 -90.00 your call.......

I also like to wash and vacuum my own cars. I hate swirls.

My NX has a freebie coming up.....bought at one dealer serviced at a closer dealer.

My 2010 CPO LS460 had its first complimentary oil change in October of last year. No charge and the oil used was the the 0w20 that the owner's manual specifies. My local Lexus dealer did this service, not the dealer I purchased the car from, which is about 175 miles away.

If you haven't already done so, talk with the service manager. He or she needs to ensure the staff is trained properly. Don't let them charge you for the complimentary first oil change.

If you already paid, get reimbursed.

Thanks for the excellent info. I am going to a local Lexus dealer in PA. (that is closer to me)........ the dealership where I purchased the car can now go to hell.
I talked to the service guy and he welcomed my business and explained how everything works on servicing the CPO LS.
