His point is they may not want to use your parts. I would just get a quote to replace them and see what it is.

Ah, I see. Thanks. Hopefully their quotes will indicate how much they are charging for the OEM bumper covers.

The quotes should break out everything, cost of parts, labor, etc.

Yes. Systems at most body shops have direct access to part catalogs, and estimates will show detailed part numbers with list (i.e., undiscounted) prices. Insurance companies require granular details on parts and labor (down to prep, paint, sanding, assembly, etc., steps), so shops need to deliver on this anyway.

Update:
The total cost for fixing the dents using OEM bumper covers will be ~2000, whether I buy the covers and they paint and install or they take care of everything (two different shops). I will live with the dents (for now). I intend to keep the car for many years, and as long as everything works fine, I will ignore the blemishes! Thanks, y'all.

If you're going to keep it for many years...I'd fix the bumpers personally...

Yes, I will but not yet. My first major investment (other than buying the car itself!) will be the 3.6K to get the 8 year/125K Platinum warranty. The car has 46K miles and will probably go over 50K later this year. I am planning a road trip to DC with the family!
