Farewell, long LWB. You were good to me.
So on Sunday night I was met with an unfortunate hand in life and got rear ended. Hit me so hard, I spun out hit the curb which caused me to hit and knock down a street light and then hit me again on the driver side door. Thankfully I was not seriously injured but have to thank the LS for that. If it would have been a smaller vehicle, I probably wouldn`t be making this post right now.
I was just starting to have a bond with this very fine vehicle. Less than 5 months of ownership but she was good to me and everyone she carried along the way on our travels.

Oh man! What a mess. So glad you are ok. Cars are just a hunk of metal and can be replaced. Yes, the LS is a lovefest on wheels, but you can get another one.
Just curious if they determined the reason for the slam in the rear. Lately those types of collisions are from texters. The other night my wife and I were out and the car in front of us was just swerving in and out of the line. We feared the driver was intoxicated. When they pulled far right, I grabbed the left lane and zipped past. The female driver was FACE DOWN texting on her phone!

Wow, that's a pretty nasty accident. Glad to know you were not badly hurt. Did any of the airbags deploy? It's really a shame that you were able to enjoy your LS for only a few months. Hopefully, you will be back in another LS before too long.
Good luck and best wishes,

Pfffftt.....a can of touch-up paint and you'll be good to go!!
Seriously though, good you're OK physically
I'm curious too on what caused the accident. Recently here, they just quadrupled the fine for distracted driving and enforcement has been stepped up on texting, calling, etc. Also, a second infraction leads to drivers licence revocation. We take it very seriously.

Distracted driving kills more people than impaired (alcohol) driving...especially young people. NY State has a roadside device called the "textalyzer" which can tell LEO's at the scene of an accident if the driver was texting or calling. I wouldn't be surprised if lawmakers pressure manufacturers to disable hand held devices while a vehicle is in motion.

Oh....and OP, try to make the best of a bad situation and start your car shopping! That's what I'd do. Now that I've owned my LS for a few years, there's some options etc that I'd be more careful of including/excluding in my next LS.
