Default F Sport braking...need opinions....possible issue?

Hey Guys so I've had my 2013 F Sport since December. Upon buying the car I've always felt like something is off with the brakes but wanted to see if this is normal with these Brembos. Just as a heads up I just had the dealer perform the new pads/shim replacement for the squealing issue.

Here is the symptoms I'm seeing.

When engaging the brakes by pressing the pedal lightly the car begins to slow down but about a 1/2 second later it almost feels like they really engage and the car begins to brake harder and the car kind of jolts a little bit. I brought it up to the dealer when they were doing the pad replacement and the service manager called me and said everything was fine. If this is normal with these Brembo's that fine as I'm getting ready to throw my Rotora's back on but if its not I'd like to get whatever it is fixed before hand.

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would say that's normal for the LS. My non F Sport doesn't have a very linear feel to the brakes either.

Yeah, that's one thing that I had to get use to was the over-compensating, non-linear feel of the brakes. I literally had to move my seat farther back as my normal seating position, and my normal resulting leg/floor brake pressure (or what I was use to from my previous car), would either feel too light or make my eyeballs fly out of the socket.

The brake assist in this car is really weird. I'm use to it now, but if you're coming from a different car, it can be surprising.

Sounds just like mine. The F Sport brakes are very "grabby." Takes a nuanced touch to operate them smoothly. I may try out aftermarket pads when the time comes to replace them.

Thanks for the feedback guys. If its normal no big deal. When I had my Rotora BBK on my 2007 it wasn't even like this so I didn't know if this was normal or not. Oh well. The next time these brakes get put on the car it will mean its for sale. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
