Fourth Generation 1UR-FSE V8 Direct Injection Fuel Pump Gasket Removal/Replacement
There are several hick-ups and entirely unnecessary steps that you will encounter if you end up following the technical manuals for the 1UR-FSE v8 engine.
Hopefully this clears things up...

Nice, thanks for sharing that. Not for the feignt of heart that's for sure, but something that is doable.
I know someone else mentioned a similar leak not too long ago.

06 is ls430?
You are correct to say that the 2006 is the LS430 update Model.. but wikipedia lists the LS430 update as 2003-2006, and the Fourth Generation LS460 as 2006-2009 .
Ultimately the Fourth Generation was introduced at the January 2006 North American International Auto Show for the 2007 model year. Furthermore the Fourth Generation design started the development process in 2001.

Very nice, hopefully I'll never have to do this repair, how many miles are on your car? I imagine 170,000ish?
I'm surprised you didn't do the valve cover gaskets while you were in there. I like what you did with the wiring harness (electrical taped it up). Usually Lexus considers working around/under that hardness a two person job (another person is to hold the harness up while a part is removed, intake, etc). Personally the thing that worries me about engine repairs on this car is that hardness and all its electric connectors...they can get brittle with age...I worry about snapping a few. Excellent video!

I have so much experience with brittle electrical parts and snapping clips with all my other LS's I have owned.. It was nice to be able to take time and care with my LS460L so avoid this problem..
My LS460L has 130,000.. Furthermore the valve cover gaskets and fuel pressure sensor had been replaced via the recall.. before I had taken ownership.
However it was clear to me that the fuel pump gaskets were not touched at all until I had done it.
Long live the manufacturer in their pristine engineering and "pursuit of perfection"!!

I don't think they touch the valve cover gaskets during that recall, if I'm not mistaken they only change the intake manifold gaskets because the manifold needs to come off to get at the fuel pressure sensor. The valve covers aren't removed.
