Personally speaking, and I know this is very subjective, but I think blacked-out wheels work fairly well on white or silver cars, providing a much needed contrast. On other colors, not so much.
I think brushed aluminum or titanium would look good on your car. The high-end brushed aluminum look. Here's what brushed aluminum looks like, from HRE, but it can be found on other brands. Titanium is a bit darker.
Brushed with a smoked clear tint is my favorite wheel finish. Check out Finnspeed wheels, custom order forged aluminum made in the USA. Sweet stuff, but $4-$5k a set. Actually cheeper than HRE's though, I think.
So I had two amazing artists in the photoshop section of the forum mock up the car in two different styles same wheels. What do you guys think? Maybe I just have terrible taste but I kinda like it. Lol
Wheels in option 1 don't look black, rather dark brushed aluminum. This looks pretty good because there is still some contrast with the black body. The wheels in option 2 are too dark, and don't go well with the black body.
So the wheels in post 38 and 39 are the same, just different lighting in the picture. Then post 40 has my current wheels. Post 38 and 40 have the car two tone, which I am considering. I think it softens up the look of the black wheels. It would be a silver wrap like it shows in the pics that covers the hood, roof, trunk and A, C pillars. I am considering the two tone wrap for two reasons: the look is unique and people tell me it's sort of a sport look? And two it will cover the flat surfaces of the car that are the worst for swirls because the obsidian black paint is so darn soft and high maintainence.
I would choose this if presented with those options. The first one that didn't get included in this quote for some reason.
