Default 2017 Lincoln Continental

This car tugs on the nostalgia strings. Has anyone tested this car yet? If so what are your thoughts? It's reported to be available for sale.

Looks interesting, but given it's built by Ford the build quality, fit, and finish won't be anywhere close to LS standards. I have yet to see any American cars screwed together as well as the LS400.

My neighbor has two new Lincolns, and while they look nice from 10+ feet away, a closer inspection reveals near rental car quality interiors.

Some of the styling etc I like. Others.....not so much. for one, I am NOT a fan of a push button PRNDL. Gotta have a gear shift. I'd buy a Genesis G90 before a Cont. Heck even a KIA K900.

Lincolns have always been problematic.

Definitely interested to try out the new Continental, its not going to be an LS competitor though. Biggest downside to me is that its a FWD Taurus platform.

Default One motor is 400hp&400 lb.ft torque

Maybe it will be the kind of car people can ralleye like they did the Chrysler 300. It's not an LS but It sure had the Bentley top designer upset:

And no V8. Silly as this may sound, I don't think I could go back to a V6,

Doesn't sound silly to me, I sorta wanted a 'GS sized' car with a V8, but Lexus doesn't make one, so I bought another LS.

In Ford's defense, the EcoBoost 3.5L V6 is a LOT more engine than Toyota's 300hp V6 as it's making 365hp and a ton of torque. But in a flagship car like the proposed Lincoln, it's gotta have a V8.

It's a handsome car that definitely piqued my interest. The proportions of the concept car were very sexy, but it looks as though the production model lost something in translation, namely a commanding front overhang; it now just screams FWD. Still looks handsome from what I've seen, but my enthusiasm diminished when I saw the final, stubbier iteration. The ecoboost engines are satisfying to drive, they just don't rumble and pull down in the low rpm range like V8's. Looking forward to see how it stacks up in terms of build quality and driver satisfaction. For now, I assume that the LS is the better car.

Question for you guys: if imports weren't an option and you were given a choice between the new Caddy CT6 and a Lincoln Continental, which would you choose?

Default The Nissan GTR has a V6 & 911 has a flat six

I really want to see what a 400hp/400 ft lb torque v6 feels like. The car is also 4,200 lbs, so it should have a substantial feel. I also would like to see how they have the suspension sprung. If you're into cars It has to do something to you to see a true USA shot at the foreign luxo Marques. Moreover, the refridgerator doors from the 1962 model should of been part of the deal. Further, the Pano roof as seen in the Continentals pic gallery reminds me of my fave feature on my Merc SL. So far so good Ford!

I'd have to see the Continental in person and drive it. I was pretty underwhelmed with the CT6...

They haven't done that here though. If this were a RWD bespoke platform car it would be a shot at the foreign marques, but this is a FWD Taurus platform which is exactly what the 1990 Lincoln Continental my dad had was...wasn't a competitor to foreign marques then and isn't now for that reason.

This is pretty much the same recipe the Continental has been since the late 80s. They just took a break.

Do you feel the same about Audi? If you give Audi a pass all the other FF/AWD cars should probably get the same nod. I didn't drive the Caddy, but I'm with you on driving this $70,000 American sedan. I'll know it when I drive it.
