Thinking of buying an LS, what do I need to look for?

The 8 year/125K mile Lexus Platinum warranty can be purchased before the 4 year/50K new car warranty or an extended CPO warranty runs out. For my 2014 non-CPO car, it will cover me thru 2022 and 125K miles, whichever comes first. Amazingly, if my 2014 car had been CPO warrantied thru 2020, the Lexus Platinum would have provided unlimited mileage coverage through 2028. The 8 years kick in after the CPO warranty runs out, not from the date of first purchase as for a non-CPO car!!

I've been reading up on the control arm issue, that's kind of a big letdown compared to previous LS models, but what exactly will happen if you left them alone and didn't change them? Is it a safety issue, or would it just ride poorly?

On one of the forums, a member called 6 different warranty companies and none of them would cover air suspension components (except compressor and fittings/switches). Everything I see on the various car warranty sites (Nationwide, Carmax etc), exclude the shock absorbers. Let us know what you find out.
