I have an IS250 and an LS460. Yes, the driving dynamics are very different but, in my book, the IS is just a shrunken version of the LS. If you want a smaller car, get the IS. If you would like the room, get the LS!

Wow that's a deal on a nearly new LS! I think you will be happy with either purchase... Worst case drive both back to back and make a decision... The IS is more of a drivers car (sporty feel with tighter steering), but the LS is just a big comfy car (I call it my second home)...

Honestly, I think you should buy the LS, drive it around for a few miles.

If you hate it, trade it in. I'd be very surprised if you didn't at least get what you're in it for out of it.

LS hands down! I like both, but LS over the IS, IMO. With that great finance rate, why not?!... hahah 0% interest on a used car is unheard of...

Huh? The cars are very different on many different levels other than size.

So...after much deliberation, I've decided that I'll be the owner of a newish (to me at least) LS460!! Super stoked to be joining the Lexus family. Definitely not the way I thought it would happen, but excited nonetheless. I appreciate everyone's thought, as you gave some all around points to consider.

I'll definitely be in this forum reading up on tips and everything LS. I'll post some pics once I pick it up this week.

Thanks again everyone!

Congrats! The 460 offers more and you got a deal that would be hard to pass up. You'll have no regrets.

Congrats and best of luck with it! If you do end up disliking it - I doubt that will be the case - you should be able to move it for a little profit without too much fuss..

determining which car is right for you really depends on the use case...how do you plan on driving the car? Basic trans, hwy commuter, occasional spirited driving, etc?

IMO the LS is the ultimate in comfort and long distance cruising and competes against German's best at touring. It's a little big for around town (in a real city) but it's fine for running errands etc. I've been driving LS cars since 2001, and they're comfy and reliable.

That IS is 2 segments below the LS, if not 3. Lexus sport compacts are of course known for reliability but often criticized for lack of soul in their attempt to 'out 3 series the BMW 3 series'. I've been in an IS350, it's relatively sporty, but it's not the car I'd buy if I was expecting an involved driving experience.

For me, that '10 LS is the deal of the century, at that price and mileage I probably wouldn't care too much about colors options if the car is mint cond.

Just thought I'd share with you the car I was talking about. Picked it up yesterday and loving it so far. Appreciate all the advice!

An IS350 versus an LS460 are too different to compare.... Completely different rides. The deal you got on the 460 was too good to pass up. Problem you have now is you have one of the best cars on the street and your next car will be challenged to match up to your 460.

Sure, the maintenance costs will be challenging but you will never regret getting a 460.

Challenging? Surely you jest.

It's not an out of production Merc, sir! 🙃

^^^^This is what i was thinking also! As far as what you would want between the two, i would think it has A LOT to do with what kind of driving you'll be doing & IF you have a family. To ME, it's hard to beat an LS460 for a family car & road trips, i can't imagine a much better riding car! jmo! Congrats on your LS, Great Car

Congrats. You'll likely have very few issues if any.
