You are looking at the wrong components. you actually need this kit for a 2013-2016 with factory navigation. Yes I'm looking into it. Will probably decide sometime next week. http://www.beatsonicusa.com/if04ep.html
I was just muddling thru different threads to put together that post! Thanks for the correct link. So this kit has the Nav bypass unit plus the hardware to mirror the iPhone. That's really looking good, and the price is reasonable. It looks like the install will be fairly complicated though, requiring a car AV specialist ($$). Hope you go thru with it and have awesome results because this is something I would love to have too! Good luck and please keep us posted!
The GromAudio solution to have a tablet device to mirror on the nav screen is nice but I am not sold on it. It does not have a Nav bypass so the only video you can watch would be streamed off the smartphone or tablet (not the best quality), whereas with Beatsonic, one can watch DVDs or stream from smartphone. Please correct me if I am wrong.
The concepts of VLine is not mirroring the phone or tablet screen. GROM Audio VLine is the stand alone unit with the computing power. It uses existing Lexus touchscreen, and you can control everything - the apps, voice control, etc - using the touchscreen. You can also control the music with car stereo/steering wheels controls. You can activate the maps by voice activation button, and the map will be on your screen. You do not need to activate the maps on your phone.
The best thing is to watch the video here to understand how VLine works:

Happy to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for the clarification. The video is nice but it really did not show what the actual product was. I found your website (http://gromaudio.com/vline/beta/index.html) to be much more informative. I see the benefit of your system in being able to use the vehicle's touchscreen very conveniently. The Vline box that fits behind the dash looks large. What are its dimensions? Must be a tight squeeze back there!

The beat sonic video makes the install seem very simple. In theory it is... but in reality it is tricky because of the tight squeeze.
The biggest caveat is that if you have the brightness of your screen turned up even slightly and you have Waze going, the amount of charge you are getting does not keep up with consumption and your phone battery will go down. Sometimes it's rapid, especially if it's warm.

Mmm, that's a bummer. Same problem could occur when streaming video from the phone. Well, the mirroring setup is still a nice product. Maybe advances in iPhone battery and using better cables will make the problem manageable.
The VLine size is H-33mm W-120mm D- 160mm or 1.3inch/4.7inch/6.3 inch
We did all installs in the glove box so far, for easier accessibility.

Well it looks like I now have two options at similar price points $359 for Beatsonic (IF-04EP) and $300 Gromaudio(vline). I'm leaning toward Gromaudio Vline as it operates independent of phone so it will be like having two mobile devices instead of one. Also it shoulds like Beatsonic may drain battery of phone if not configured correctly with screen brightness. I have an ATT iphone 6 plus (probably the I phone 7plus byt the time v-line comes out) so I expect to tether with GromAudio v-line. I wonder if this will eat up more data (say I'm using Waze on the phone vs tethering with V-line and using Waze, will the data use be the same if everything else is equal?) and will the accuracy of GPS location be the same as app on the phone.

Hello, thank you for your questions.
Yes the data usage will be exactly the same.
GPS accuracy will be the same as on phone. We use ublox6 module which combines GPS/GNSS for precision.
