LS460 Suspension (Australian Member) needs help
Hi I've enjoyed your site, learned a lot, got inspired but I still have a question regarding suspension on my 2007 ls460.
It is the model with air suspension ie has height button and comfort / sport switch. Thats the only version we get here.
I was told by the workshop today all the air struts are weeping, this explains the scary ride and excessive bounce, the switches seem to make no difference and I have no warning lights appearing.
My budget does not currently allow for any new air systems genuine or after market. Used parts are very scarce here too.
What is the most cost effective way to keep the car on the road ? Can I convert to to spring and shocker set up (as some cars are factory fitted this way in your country is this right ?) as opposed to coilovers which I don't really want to do unless I have no choice.
All help appreciated thanks in advance.

There is some information on this suspension thread that might be useful to OP.

Here's a link to a company that may still be selling a conversion kit for 2007-2012 LS SWB.

Another potential source is Strutmasters, but they only make conversion kits up to the LS430 (2006).

If a good number of interested CL members organize and contact the company, they might offer a conversion kit for LS460.

Unfortunately in Australia all you can get is coilovers, all vehicles in this country come factory air. I dont want the hard ride normally associated with coilovers, unless someone can suggest a brand that is close to factory ride. The air system is still holding up, just. You can buy aftermarket air struts of unknown quality on ebay, in my case I was planning for the future coz I really want to keep this car. Good luck and any info appreciated.

Hi OP, I am also in Australia. What did the dealer quote to replace/repair the air suspension with OEM parts? I am looking at getting an LS as well, but if all Oz delivered cars had the air suspension, and it costs a mortza to fix, it may be a deal breaker.
