I'm looking forward to at least one of mine being smart enough to be able to support me in the manner to which I have become accustomed

I'm the OP. Went for a quick cruise in the S5 last night and stumbled upon a nice spot to take a picture as the sun set. For those who appreciate beautiful cars, here you go. I have always thought this body style was the most classic/timeless of the S5 line.

I appreciate this car for what it is...but still in love with my LS. Lucky to have a fun-to-drive car and a luxurious tank.

Wow, a V8 on that sports car?? Must be screaming fast! 0-60 in less than 5? Beautiful photo.

Yep, 4.2 V8 in the "older" ones. I think 2013 is when they switched to a turbo V6 which is supposedly slightly quicker than the V8- but I wouldn't give up the sound of this V8 beast for a slightly faster 0-60 (I don't drive the car hard anyway). If I remember correctly the 0-60 on my model is listed at 4.8 seconds. The real fun is anything over 2,500 RPM where the torque of the car just starts pulling like crazy. Can't wait for the heat here in FL to settle down so I can get in a lot of window-down time to hear the engine run through the gears.

While the newer supercharged S5 is as fast as the older V8 model, it doesn't have that glorious sounding 4.2l V8....does your S5 have the same 40 valve engine that my '02 S8 had (rated at 360hp)? It would spin to 7000 quite easily!

That works. Funny....they seem to have the same control arm issues some have with the LS. http://www.audiworld.com/forums/audi...-case-2904395/

My intention of starting the thread was to compare two car brands and provide some insight into a decision where I considered abandoning an LS in exchange for a German "sports" car and lessons I have learned along the way (mainly about how much I continue to appreciate the LS) and why I decided to keep the LS. I'm sure I'm not the only person on the forum who found themselves having this thought process. I have read dozens of threads on here over the years comparing the LS to S class, 7 series, A8, Genesis, etc. and as a car enthusiast, I have always found those informative.
