I have 930 miles left, 927 to be precise, before I cross over! My car is a garage queen for now, with a 700 mile trip in a couple of weeks. I guess I like living on the edge .

No mileage verification needed. But you should also contact Toby yourself to clarify this issue and update the group if you learn something new. All the paperwork is handled by mail. Here are more details from Toby.

I will need your VIN, mileage, name, address and phone number. You can make check payable to Lexus of Shreveport and mail to 2901 Benton Rd Bossier City, La 71111 Atten Toby Rivers.

Thanks for everything. I called him and he is out for lunch. Will call back and let you know what he says. He does have the best price but I would also like to wait until Sept. for a better warranty. More miles and more years coverage.

Happy to help. I hope the process for buying the warranty has not changed, and maybe Toby has better warranties

Just talked to Toby. Really nice guy. Lexus has the new warranties now and you don/t have to wait until Sept. You can get either a 9year/ 125, 10yr/100, or 10yr/125. I am going to buy one from him on Monday as I will be out of town this weekend. More years but same mileage. I will buy the 8/125 platinum VSA , as I drive around 15K miles a year. You can email him @ tobytoyota@aol.com with all the info that you listed. CAll him and give him the cc number and you are done. Best prices I have found including Colorado Lexus dealer that I bought from on my previous Lexus. Lexus dealer in Houston quoted me for same Lexus warranty 8yr/125 mile for 5560 but tried to sell me a after market CNL warranty first. $1900 difference. WOW. If you buy from him this month, he will take another 100 off. I told Toby that I would post a review about the complete transaction after it is done.
Thanks for all the help, Comotiger.

You are welcome, Jarm, and thanks for the new info. I will also buy this month, then. Hey $100 off sounds great! For my driving, I think I will pick the 10 year/125K if the price increase is not steep. Do you have the quotes for the longer warranties? I will also email Toby shortly. Yes, my local dealer also quoted in the 5000s. I am not sure how Toby does it, but my Lexus SA said I should go with Toby as there is no chance they could price-match. I did confirm with Toby and my dealership that the Platinum VSA would be honored at all Lexus dealerships.

All are Lexus Platinum warranties with a ZERO deductible. Yes they are good at any Lexus dealer in the US.

Toby provided the additional extended warranty options available. These prices are ~1.5-2K cheaper than those quoted by most dealers.
9/100 = $3040
9/125 = $4195
10/100 = $3285
10/125 = $5180

I am getting the 9/125 next week. My car will be covered through Jan 2023 or 125,000 miles.

I asked Toby the other day for a quote on a 2013 LS460, same pricing as you got but also was quoted a 10-yr option:

7 year 100000 = $2345
7 year 125000 = $3010

8 year 100000 = $2385
8 year 125000 = $3760

9 year 100000 = $3040
9 year 125000 = $4195

10 year 100000 = $3285
10 year 125000 = $4555

Salesguy, thanks for the heads up. The rate quoted for 10/125 to one of us is incorrect. I hope it's the one to me, because I may buy the 10/125 at $4555! I will check with Toby and update.

The correct quote for 10/125 is $4555.

I had originally intended to get 8/125 at $3760. Now, I can get an additional two years of coverage for $795 (until Jan 2024) with the 10/125 warranty. My driving habits are compatible with this as I don't anticipate driving more than 10K per year. $4555 is a lot of money, and I know there are many here who would bank the money and trust Lexus' reliability or do any repairs for a fraction of the dealership prices. But the VSA gives me peace of mind. Comments welcome!

Update:
I purchased the 10/125 Lexus Platinum VSA warranty for $4455 last week. This price included a $100 discount for purchasing before Sept 1. Toby Rivers of Lexus of Shreveport/Bossier City was very responsive and answered all my questions, and I was happy to purchase the warranty from him. Importantly, his VSA quotes are the lowest of several dealers, by 2-3K in many cases !! That's pretty incredible, and even my Lexus SA advised me to take the deal. I received the agreement today, and I am now covered thru Jan 2024 or 125,000 miles.

While virtually all of the mechanicals identified on CL as potential problem items are covered (CAs, air suspension, brake actuator, Water pump, Fuel pumps, etc.), I am somewhat surprised by the number of items (see below) that are not covered by the Platinum warranty. I realize many of these are wear-tear, but others on the list are debatable.

Accessory Drive Belts
Batteries
Body Panels
Brake Linings, Pads and Shoes, Rotors and Drums
Bumpers
Carpet
Chrome
Clutch Friction Disc and Pressure Plate
Dash Cover and Pad
Door Trim and Fabric
Filters
Fluids
Glass (including Windshields)
Headliner
Heating Hoses, Lines, and Tubes
Hoses
Interior and Exterior Cloth, Leather and Stiching
Interior and Exterior Trim and Moldings
Lamps, Light Assemblies/Housings, and Light Bulbs
Nuts, Bolts, Clips, Retainers, and Fasteners
Paint
Rust and Corrosion Damage
Seat Covers
Sheet Metals
Shiny Metals
Spark Plugs
Structural Framework and Welds
Tires
Vacuum Hoses, Lines, and Tubes
Weather Stripping
Wheels and Rims
Windshield Wiper Blades (Rubber Component)

Such a coincidence, I purchased mine yesterday - went with 10 yrs/100k for $3185 from Troy Dietrich. My second warranty purchase from him.
9 yr / 100K - $2940.00
9 yr / 125K - $4195.00
10 yr / 100K - $3185.00
10 yr / 125K - $4555.00

On the Lexus VSA site, it states prominently that for used cars (not CPO), the VSA must be purchased at the same time as the car .

Makes me wonder if my VSA is any good. I will get this clarified with Toby. I should be receiving the documents from Lexus in a few days, and hopefully this issue will be moot.

You're right, it does omit some weird things you'd expect to be covered but you can also ask for more detail. For example, let's say you had a coilpack failure that also caused the sparkplug to go bad, do you, then, have to pay for the spark plug itself? Also do you have to pay for nuts/bolts/clips/fluids when needed for a covered repair? In my after-market policy, a uncovered item can be covered if a covered item caused the uncovered item to fail not sure if that's the case with your policy or not. Everything else on the list makes sense. Although I'm not sure what they mean by "Light Assemblies/Housings". What if your adaptive motor goes out? Is that covered?
One thing I found interesting is that my aftermarket warranty covers weather stripping..

Good points. I would guess the Lexus warranty is at least as good as the 3rd party warranty in covering uncovered items that fail due to covered items. Who wants to find out . Other than the usual suspects like the air suspension and CAs that are covered, I hope I don't have to ever fix anything in the car! I am happy to have my Lexus dealer fix any or all problems as warranty repair because I don't have to do comparison shopping; less headache for me.

Toby clarified that everything is OK with my VSA . Any car that still has the new car warranty is considered new for the purposes of the VSA, so the warranty I just bought is valid
