Alignment gets a little sloppy. VGRS and air suspension will mask it some however.

Worst parts: bushings or rotors (I simply can't decide).

On one hand, I've never changed a bushing before Lexus, on the other hand, how do you sell brakes that are sure to warp...Ok the factory brakes are the worst part. Who said limiter? How often does the limiter become the problem lol

The limiter is a problem for me at least once weekly.

That's how I discovered my control arm problem. The inner edges of my tires were wearing down and after the alignment shop went to do an alignment, they found the worn bushings.

I think I'll be looking at several options for replacing these control arms. I haven't gotten a chance to speak with management about getting some goodwill assistance/break on the price of replacement but will also be pursuing this. Realistically I'd like to come out spending no more than $2,000-2,500 to do this job and am presently not in a hurry so shopping around will be fairly easy.

Coming into this year, model and trim I knew I had about a 50/50 shot of getting a pre-update example vs updated. I took a calculated risk.

FWIW, I just priced out all the front upper and lower control arms on Ebay. Some of the parts are Beck Arnley and others are various brands. My total will be about 575 dollars inc delivery. All found on Ebay. I found it interesting that, it was cheaper to source the parts out to various vendors than to get all the components from one vendor. You'd think it would be the opposite. So far, this is what I'm leaning towards:

Rock Auto has them all plus the links for about $550 shipped. By the way when I got my uppers out (with 90k) they looked like they could go a few more years. They really were not that bad. I think this whole bad control arm thing is more mechanic up selling than anything. I never could understand how mechanics could even make a living on Asian cars. The dealership I worked for sold Mazdas, Volvos, VW, Audi and Hyundai in a couple different buildings all lined up. The aggressive Audi mechanics made bank (140k plus) Then the Volvo and VW mechanics just over 100k. The Mazda and Hyundai mechanics were lucky to break 60k. All these mechanics were on the same flat rate.

Are you sure? When I checked it was far more than that. I'll go have another look. If you have a link, that would be awesome. Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong option.

Ok...you're right.....I found it on Rock Auto. About 550 bucks with shipping. However, I found that you had to mix brands on some of the arms. For example, the right lower front might be Beck Arnley, while the same part on the other side is Dorman. Not a big deal, but for negligeable savings, might not be worth it. Also, they don't include the stab links, while the Ebay listing does.

Further to my post above, I went ahead with Rock Auto and even found a discount code online. So all in including stab links and shipping, about 515 bucks. I also managed to keep the manufacturers to all Mevotech for the arms and MAS for the stab links.

although there are things I like about the poly bushings...having arms ready to install outweighs them.
