But 95% of the crap they do is "inspect" this or "check" that, or inflate tires, yada, yada, yada (for us Seinfeld fans).

Now my wife could not do any inspect or check items, but anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of cars could do all that for him or herself.
Absolutely right and today, at least the dealers where I live, every time you go even for a simple oil change do a free complete documented visual inspection of the car...

Well, obviously its a ripoff lol.

But, you wont find a synthetic oil change for a car like this for $80. The LS holds over 9 quarts of oil and my S560 is the same, just the cost of the oil and the filter is going to be $80. This same service from Lexus was $250. I was expecting it would be 50% more at Mercedes, maybe $400...but, I was surprised lol

I paid $110 to have the oil changed in my Pacifica with 0W20 Mobil 1 the other day at a quick lube, $80 oil change for an LS460 or S560 at a dealer aint gonna happen.

To be fair, the wipers on the S560 are magic vision control (their fancy word for their washers) and are only available from Mercedes and just the parts are $200. The only other option is to buy knock offs from China on Alibaba. They didnt need to be replaced at 10k miles though.

Have you asked them how much they will charge you before doing all of these ?
He told me the price before I left it there. I was leaving for out of town the next day and I wanted it done before I left and didnt have time to screw with taking it anywhere else, so I just let them do it and took the loaner. No big deal, but for 20k I will find an MB independent or take it to the guy who did my Lexuses. (20k service is like $1,600 at the dealer).

Your Mercedes is a 2020, I was under the impression that the maintenance for the first 4 years is still included ( like it used to be for Audi etc.)

No lol, thats BMW. Mercedes has never included maintenance, I don't believe Audi does either.

Basically you get one free service like you do with Lexus. No freebies with Mercedes.

You can buy Audi Care maintenance (4years/45,000 miles) from the dealer, I guess I've paid around $2200 for it.

Of course, you can buy prepaid maintenance for a Mercedes too. Lexus too.
