Hello ccbcc, thanks for the update. Great to hear your dealer is going to replace these rusted parts. Your steering linkage looks especially bad and that may have convinced them to replace all the pieces. I will definitely take this up with my dealer soon.

Paul, when an internal piece in a flagship car shows so much rust, superficial or not, it is certainly noteworthy. If a piece looks this bad in a 2-3 year old car, I don't want to wait to see how much worse it can get. I am glad ccbcc's dealer is being proactive about it. I am hopeful my dealer will also come thru.

OT, but we hav the complete DVD set of "Fawlty Towers". Remember the episode when their eponymous B&B has German gets, Basil gets hit on the head and thinks he in WWII? Best politically incorrect humor and goosestep ever!

HAHAHAA!! Yes...epic. That's the thing about British humor....they aren't afraid of offending anyone....I guess because they poke fun at themselves equally.

Yes, OT for sure, but this was too good to let go.John Cleese's goose step (and his Monty Python "Ministry Of Silly Walks" antics), reminds me of Jim Carrey's physical humor. Just awesome.

Here's mine, 2007 with 148,000 miles. I live in the rust belt so I'm surprised there isn't a hole in the floor yet.

Great question. I went back and compared the various photos, and there are at least two different configurations, depending upon the model year.

The 2013+s have the PCS (pre-collision system) Off button in that neighborhood, in addition to the TPMS switch, but no ****.

satiger's 2010 LS has the PCS and TPMS buttons and the ****. Roadfrog's and Doublebase's pre-2010s have the ****, and the TPMS, and maybe also the PCS, switch.

Thanks, CRowe, good to know its purpose. BUT how come it's gone in the 2013+ LS? The 2013+ cars can use the audio feedback too. Unless it's still there and our pics just haven't captured it.

Hey, not a problem! Love this place and adding to the "Help Bin" when I can! I didn't realize (not that I would, as I own an '07 LOL!!) that the button wasn't there on the 13+'s. Have you looked? Perhaps you just missed/overlooked it (not to imply your blind)!

LOL, I may be "knobless" and blind, but still have my fangs....

Kidding aside, I should look carefully. I may have missed it!

The volume of the lock beeps is adjustable through the personalized settings in the 13-17, so no need for the ****. My 400 and 430 had a **** in that spot too

When you first wrote that you were "knobless" AC, I laughed out loud then too, but failed to comment on the statement as I was too busy inserting my own satire... Watch out for the fangs though!!
