Self Park
So I got this new Jeep Grand Cherokee that parks itself. Works like magic every time. So much fun showing friends how it works. On the other hand in my 07 LS I have tried this a few times and it will sometimes start moving into the spot but just shut off in the middle of the operation. Does this work for anybody in their equipped LS460? Was the technology not there yet or is mine just broken? I don't really need this feature but I I would use it if it worked.

I tried to use it 1 time and it was a bit more involved than I thought it would be. That in conjunction with the fact it moves so slow and I kept getting errors. I figured by the time the car did it itself, I could have parked on my own and walked to my destination.
Perhaps I was doing something wrong as well... Idk.

I've found as long as the rear view camera has clear sight of the parking spot it seems to work quite well. Sometimes you do have to align the box with the parking spot (I've found that with a clear view it auto picks the spot), but after that it parks itself just fine. But do remember that the LS was the first production car with auto parking technology so it is rougher compared to the newer stuff. But all in all, it seems to work just fine - I've had it perfectly park multiple times. I never get any errors unless the car moves too quickly or I tap on the accelerator pedal.

Agreed. The '07 LS self parking was the first for any automobile and advance technology ten years ago. But its self parking was time consuming and not always accurate and takes practice. Now cheaper cars have the same feature and will self park accurately and fast. My daughter Ford Focus self parking is effortless and accurate.

I never used it before but, I should get my 2007 LS460L this week (crossing fingers) and I was really looking forward to using it (as I back into spots every day.)

Now that I have had my car over a week now. I always have backed into spots with my good old' LS430. So I have been playing with the Self park I try to use it every day just to back into a spot.
It's very picky if your angle is not right, or if your just too far away but if your about to back into a spot, hitting the button will back into the spot, you just need to keep your foot on the break, as it will yell at you if it's going too fast.
The thing I DO like about it, if your going between 2 cars, it does a pretty good job of being in the center, and if your just going in painted lines, it's the same, 95% of the time, it's equal on both sides.
