Neither car advertised as having ML sound, so I'm not sure. Both cars have new tires on them. Not sure about brake pad life in the 2008. For the 2010, pads were changed and rotors resurfaced at 70K. I thought the 2008 and 2010 both had the same trunk space. I've read that the 2008 had firmer seats than the 2010. Is this true?

I'm not sure about the firmness of seats. I know the rear seats are contoured differently on the 2013+ models.

As for the trunk space, I guess 2009-2012 have larger trunks but only compared to 2007-2008 that had the rear seat upgrades (reclining seats and rear AC + chill box). See post #7, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...30-larger.html.

There was a change to the 2007 driver's seat cushion to make it a little softer after comfort complaints.

If you don't need AWD don't buy it it just adds weight, drops the horsepower and on occasion can be problematic. If you have to drive in snow buy the AWD for sure though. I have 2 AWD cars to use when it snows so I am good with my RWD LS460.

+1. I don't have AWD and have driven my LS in severe snow conditions - hills, highways, in town etc. Nothing could stop my car, BUT I do have dedicated 18" snow tires on all four corners for the winter season. The "snow" mode button and the car's traction control helps to keep things in check, whether it be heavy wet snow, dry cold snow, etc.

I have found many ads don't advertise whether it has ML or not, I would ask or ask for pictures of the dash/radio if they don't know, if you can see gold lettering I think under the CD slot it has ML, ML should be on the speakers too.

You should also see a tweeter in the rear doors that isn't in the non Levinson.

My vote is for the 2008. Since you are in Mass., the AWD could be enticing. However, I've had my RWD for 10 years and never put snow tires on. Of course in the worst snow storms I never have to go out, but right after the plows have gone out, I'm good to go.

I agree, I live in NH (Massachusetts north) and I haven't had a problem with my RWD, but then again I have snow tires. With snows this car is pretty capable with the traction control system.

A couple of features added after the 2008 was built include VGRS Variable Gear-Ratio Steering, Heated steering wheel,
Adaptive Variable Suspension, Turn signal repeaters on Outside Mirrors, Driver's seat Auto slide-away. The Bluetooth
added Audio to the phone only previous system and also a USB port. XM tuner became standard as well as the Safety
Connect system replacing the On-Star based Lexus Connect. XM Traffic and Weather was worthless and still is...

Mostly correct except for VGRS, Heated Steering Wheel (as roadfrog pointed out) and AVS - had them all in my '08 460L.

Also, there are tweeters in the wood trim on the rear doors which are missing on the base ("premium") audio system.
