Yep I filed a case as well. Turned down. Mine is an 08. In the sun, very sticky. Driver armrest cracked. Lexus isn't interested.

I was thinking about upgrading to a 2010-2012 "L" after 2 years. Now the search criteria will be even more difficult since I will now need to find one with stitched door leather armrest along with Mark Levinson sound and Non Air shocks. Would non leather door armrest be a deal breaker for anyone else?
I'll probably have to go with air shock now since that is usually part of the premium package. I'm surprised that nearly every Ls460 I see now between 2017-2012 has the rubber armrest
That would be a deal breaker for me.

When I called corporate about the panels they specifically told me that my 2010 did not qualify but the reason they were doing a good faith replacement was because I have owned multiple Lexus vehicles.

I recently reached out to the same person that helped me with the panels at the dealership about the glove box and within 2 days she emailed back saying Lexus has agreed to replace the glove box and she will let me know when it gets in. I don't know if the lady at Lexus of Tampa bay has pull with Lexus corporate or what but besides the wait time its been a pretty easy process.

Even if they tell you no don't give up. Go to multiple dealerships and hope that you get someone that can help.

Going to multiple dealerships changes nothing, the case file is managed at the corporate level...which is where the decision is made.

I had owned 4 Lexus vehicles since 1992 and they couldn't have given a rat's a$$ when my 2007 LS door panels were melting!

were they bought new? just wondering...

they goodwill(ed) my brakes on the GS350.. since I bought/own "3 Lexus vehicles."

Not sure if it was a good reason, but I didn't complain.

'92, '98, '08 were new. The LS was bought used but that shouldn't really matter - others with used vehicles and no prior Lexus loyalty have had their (non-2007) cars covered.

Anyway, it's in the past (although the bad taste isn't) - I traded the car in on a 2014 LS.

First time Lexus owner here. 2nd owner of 08 LS460 (in service Aug 2008, so it is within their 10yr limit, but outside of specified VIN range) with melting door panels. Dealer (Sewell Dallas, original seller to first buyer) submitted pictures and corporate turned it down. Pictures wont show anything since it doesnt look bad visually.. just incredibly sticky to the touch when hot.

My car is mostly garaged (both at home and work), but when going out to lunch and parked under the Texas sun, the door armrests are extremely sticky. Pretty embarrassing when coworkers are riding with me to lunch, but I guess Lexus corp doesnt mind that type of brand image.

Strange that they refuse to cover the 2008 when it is the same material as the 2007 with known defective parts. I am assuming corp turned it down because I am 2nd owner, but dont really know their "algorithm". Dealer gave the usual spiel about how they factor in the age of product, mileage, service history, etc.

Does anyone in Dallas area have an upholstery shop to recommend? Perhaps it can be wrapped with something more resilient.

Sucks you guys are going through this. All the more reason to have your windows tinted even if a very light tint. I just had mine done even though it has 70% treatment on the glass you could still feel the UV on your skin. The damage to the interior is from ultraviolet light. I did 70% ceramic on the windshield and 35% on the rest of the vehicle.

Anyone know of a link to identify LS 460 VINs eligible for the sticky interior panel recall? Mine is a 2010

I am not sure it is a Vin thing? I took my 2010 LS 460L over to Lexus of Tulsa Tuesday and started the process. They never said oh your VIN is not covered. They took pictures and began the paperwork. Said I would here back from them in a few weeks?
