Good luck.
Could be 2 things:
- The filter was not fully seated when they put it in
- The car was not in recirculate (door open) when they changed it and they forced it open by hand, resulting in either a disconnected or broken linkage.

Sure the fix takes about 3 seconds to do but, to get to it, you need to take the whole glove box off. I had the same issue when I got my car (didn't notice on the test drive), it took about 2 hours to do but, the entire glove box needs to come off the car.
It's fairly easy if you follow step by step and take your time but, for the complete non-handy person it could be very scary.
