Yeah... lots of them at that price. I saw at least 5 or 6 of them for under 300 bucks. Simple swap that would take just a half hour or so. A Lot less work and grief and it'll look factory fresh again. To me, it's a no-brainer,.

My other question is, doesn't the Line X make the interior smell terrible?

Certainly no grief, it was super simple. Would this fit the LS460L? If so this would be a temporary thing!

Great question. It did linger for a week or so, but now is gone.

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe only the rear doors are larger on the L model. Someone else can chime in if they have an L.

I bet if you posted these pictures to the Lexus facebook page a couple times, new armrests would magically be sent to you.

The 460 regular wheelbase and 460 L are identical up to the B-pillar. Even then, 4.something inches is inserted into the floor/roof/first half of the rear door panels, and the rest is regular 460.

L owners, be aware, however, there are plastic underbody pieces which seem to be easily knocked loose and subsequently ground down by pavement. These are pieces which cover the 5", or so, of bonus leg room. I've yet to find a part number, or else I'd likely have replacements.

FWIW, I really like my "L". Even more so when I'm blasting through a roundabout near work. People seem confused by a 200"+ long land yacht going kinda sideways through a roundabout, tires screaming for mercy.

2007 LS460, Golden Almond. I posted this in 2 other places for the same problem but this site doesn't coordinate well. Just reupholstered all 4 door panels...cracked arm rests and sticky window sills...total $900 at Peppy's Auto in Naples, FL. I did the sills and arm rests the same color and couldn't be happier. Check it out.

I love both of these solutions for different reasons. I really applaud the OP for his outside the box thinking, and bringing it here even though he knew he was opening himself up for snobbery. Kudos brother.

And the reupholstered armrests in leather look fantastic, well done.

Two ends of the spectrum, but both appreciated.

I don't know if anyone received a recall/campaign letter- Campaign ZLZ. You should get a letter to replace the armrest and trims. I went to Longo Lexus for service. I am waiting for parts to come in. I will see what happens later. I got a loaner car 2019 ES350. It drives terrible. My 2007 LS460 is much much smoother and powerful than the new car.

I finally got part of order from Lexus. They replaced the glove box and lower dash trim around the steering column. Still waiting for the console and door panels. I torn about replacing the door panels because the upholstered ones I had done look so good.

How did you get the armrest off ??

Of course this could be troll worthy from our Lexus enthusiast forum here, but Im all about functionality and affordability. Of course, trying to keep tackiness down to a very minimal. Lets go through all the attempts of solutions I went through before getting to my final last resort solution.

1) Getting a hold of Lexus corporate. After a 2 week open case, I was denied.
2) Going to four different upholstery shops. Everyone agreeing to the same thing. In order to complete this project, they would need an OEM mold. And no one wanted to wrap it with leather because the results would eventually fail and never getting a tight perfect fit.
3) Buying the part at the dealer. Of course the dealer doesn't just sell the arm rest only, needing to buy the whole door panel. $2000-$3000
4) Buying used on ebay or junk yard. After browsing for this on ebay for 6 months, I was never able to locate just the arm rest, only door panels. And a couple of times, the arm rest was missing from the door panel!! But I did stumble upon the door panel a couple times but it was rare, and when I did, it always ranged in the $1k price range. Why would I spend $1k on a used item that would potentially do the same thing again.

I was annoyed and tired of being super careful and fragile with the arm rest area with daily driving and movement. Thats when it hit me.

Line X they thing! (or Rhino Lining). I stop by a Line X shop and he said he'd do it for 40.00.

Instruction: Remove arm rest (simple job maybe 20 min max). scrap off whatever is ready to come off, but be careful not to remove foam as you can see I did in the pics. and thats it.

To sum things up. Im decently happy with the job. Is it odd to have Line X on a Lexus interior. Sure.. but, this is one beast arm rest =) that Ill never have to worry about again.
