Just joined. Thanks for having me. 2008 exutive. Trunk only opens with the key.
The trunk close button doesn't work ether. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If your trunk will not open using the remote, inside trunk release button or outside button above the license plate, and won't close when you touch the close button and you can only used the key.. If it isn't a fuse chances are the trunk closing/opening components have failed and you are looking at about $1100 to fix. I had the same problems.

Try pushing the black "valet-no-go" button, one time, inside the LHS of the glovebox and try that ...

I disconnected the battery an it opened. Then it cycled 5 times an then I couldn't close the trunk. I did this several times. Finally I started the car an held the trunk closed an it went through the cycles again. The trunk closed an I have opened it with the key. Nervous about trying the remote. Thanks for your input.
