While I still use TGMO and just did in fact last week, if I could more easily find Pennzoil Ultra Premium, I well might use that. Around here in the urbane and cosmopolitan Knoxville, TN, about the only oils easily available are diesel oils specifically designed to "roll coal" as at least this county, no emissions controls. Nashville and the metro do have some, but not this neck of the woods.

The additives will almost always be depleted, before the base stock is no longer holding up.

Blackstone is a very bad guide for OCI length, they don't have much data nor do they know how to interpret it properly. On other posts here, I routinely have caught Blackstone making large mistakes. They're nice people though.

To measure additives, you need something called FTIR. FTIR shows you the oil at the molecular level vs. the atomic level. Allowing you to see, if that 2500ppm of zinc/phos is really active or if it's depleted. You can have 2500ppm of zinc and have sheared out additives that no longer function.
A factor not mentioned regarding extended OCI is engine design. Getting rid of the flat tappet camshaft in favor of roller camshaft(s) reduces the need for zinc concentrations (dialkyldithiophosphate) as that wiping/shear is like no other in an engine and it is one of the first to be depleted in a flat tapped camshaft engine. IIRC this also came to be as result of O2 sensors and CATs being damaged by the zinc additives. In short oil formulations changed when zinc like additives could be reduced.

That said a 95 Camry 1MZ-FE (3.0L V6) clocked over 321,xxx mi using valvoline, STP and WIX oil filters. Engine is DOHC 24 valve flat tapped. I picked it up at 140,xxx and did one valve adjustment to two exhaust valves. FWIW it was still on the OEM CAT when stolen and departed. Oh and I replaced two primary O2 sensors...

Point - adding STP (zinc) didn't kill the CAT or O2 sensors prematurely... But those were narrow band O2's and they are more hearty than the Wideband O2's...

Another was a Nissan. Ran the Valvoline dino oil and STP. New to me at 175k departed at 360k mi and ran like a champ when sold. All my engines see the full RPM band daily and are freeway/city miles logging 25mi each way.
