Car wash shampoo & sponge

You should head to the detailing forum. More info there. I highly recommend a quality microfiber wash mitt and a bucket with a screen mesh at the bottom to catch debris. As for soap, I HIGHLY recommend Meguiars Gold Class shampoo and conditioner.

For a mitt and micro fiber cloths you may want to check out: The Rag Company
For Shampoo and other products you may want to check out: Adams Polishes or Auto Geek.
My my suggestion is to PROPERLY detail your car (wash, clay, polish, seal, wax) and then maintain the shine with proper washings using a two bucket method...... Like Mr Frog said: Head over to the detailing section for more helpful info.

As stated above, check out those threads. Soap and mitts are one thing, how to wash it without all sorts of issues is another.
I buy a few decent microfiber mitts and dedicate certain ones to the body and other ones to wheels. Never use a wheel one on the body. There are some good soaps available at big box stores and they go on sale. For the more finicky, there are many to choose from.
You didn't ask about drying. That is just as critical as the mitt and soap, maybe even more....Make sure to do your homework.
Good Luck and happy washing!

I use Turtle wash and wax or Meguiar's Gold but their are tons to choose from. I use a soft sponge mitten to wash and a soft shimmy to dry it off. It always give me LS that "just waxed look".
