I've never heard of factory body colored guards, but I installed clear ones on mine, its the same film that people use for clear bra on hood/bumper, it went on good and serves the same purpose, not very visible either!

Definitely valid points for using door guards. I tried them and it isn't for us. Instinctively, I will hold the door open for my wife and daughter to exit the rear of the LS. I will risk some crushed fingers rather than endure chipped paint. While I do this everywhere we go, my wife thinks I'm protecting her car when I do this in the garage...pffft, I do this to protect MY ride.
