Question TPMS system failure after new tires installation

Just 1 day after installing a set of new tires (Pirelli P7) at local Discount Tires,
on my 40-minutes commute back home, suddenly the dash board stopped showing tire pressure of all 5 tires, and got a error message and two warning signs as shown attached.
normally tire pressure info is the default display on my dashboard screen since it is a very important info to keep an eye on. So i actually witnessed the display flickered and the error messages popped up.

what might have happened, searched using google and youtube, could be:
* local Discount Tire damaged one or more of the TPMS sensors
* TPMS sensor's battery exhausted (just happened 1 day after tire installation)

will have to contact DT or Lexus dealer to get this fixed.

I would go back to Discount Tire and let them check the TPMS. Much cheaper than take it to dealer.
my 2 cents

thanks a lot for the advice. will stop by DT this morning to have it checked.
haven't seen anyone complaining about TPMS on this forum, therefore it is maybe very rare for them to go bad by themselves.

In DT now. Found 2 left sensors dead.
DT suggested that the batteries may be dead.
Replacement cost $60 ea
DT to determine the cause and if caused by tire installation then they will cover cost

two sensors pulled out, seems no cracks on the sensor.

wonder maybe the sensors could be internally broken without any exterior sign?

Could be but impossible to prove. Regardless, the TPMS sensors are 8 years old so it's about time.

One of the sensors in MY08 gone bad couple of years ago. DT brand sensor would not work. I had to buy one from dealer $68 and DT installed for me free of charge.

DT installed 2 sensors and reset the TPMS system. now all warning sign & lights are gone.
they are using bartech 400pro with online price of $2,000, so hopefully the problem is solved.

I had DT replace one sensor and I had no issues afterwards. They do work fine if tech programs everything correctly.

I get about 2 1/2 years out of a set of shoes, so I replace the TPMS on my cars every-other-tire-replacement.

Might be able to get away with three sets of shoes, but that risks getting non-stop warnings should just one not last as long as the others.

good to know.
one more reason to avoid Michelin PS AS3 which lasts 20k ~ 27k miles for my LS.
wonder if you let the tire store to replace the TPMS or you replace them yourself?
Thanks

Can you do that without removing the tire from the wheel?

No, they mount from the inside like a regular valve. And the batteries are non-replacable.

OP when you got that warning did it give you the option to look at individual tire pressures?
