Default clicking popping sounds brake actuator?

so I am hearing clicking/popping sounds on the ls460 every time I brake... they are not every loud but its noticeable. the car has just have 100k; i read a few threads here and seems like its a pretty common problem.

what I am not getting the answer to is that clicking/popping sounds from the actuator = imminent failure of the brake actuator ?

I don't want a brake failure as 99% of the times I have kids in the car.. please advise

Well it could be something simple like brake hardware, etc, but where you're worried about safety and your kids, I'd just take it to the dealer. I don't know if they'll actually do anything if there are no codes present, but if you're that worried about it I'd take it there to at least get it documented. Plus there's an extended warranty on the brake actuator...who knows? Maybe they'll just replace it.

actuator noise is not indication of upcoming failure. It is just annoying noise.

even when it fails with warning lights, it is not catastrophic

Where is the sound coming from? Can you post a video?

Seems like somewhere behind the dash area; its not really loud at all. seems like 2-4 clicks most of the time I brake not all the time.... Its not coming from the brakes/rotors. I am pretty sure its the actuator I will try to make a video and post it
