Default Check tire pressure switch

I have LS 2007 L for 90 days, love my car! Only issue on (3) road trips now, my check tire pressure comes on every road trip. I have taken car in to dealership, first time they said summer temperatures. next time raised nitrogen pressure in tire so won't cause sensor to reach low pressure. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it possible the sensors are going bad?

I'm not sure I follow the dealership's reasoning here. All else equal, summertime, particularly if the car is cruising for some time on hot pavement, will cause the PSIs to increase, not decrease (sometimes as much as 8-10 PSI above cold recommended pressure). Why they said that PSI would decease and allow the warning-sensors to come on doesn't make sense.

Check the spare tire too in your LS as it is a full size and has a sensor in it that could be giving off a warning light.

Agreed.....good point, Hoovey. I had forgotten about that. Many temporary spares need around 60 PSI.

First thing is to check the pressures when tire is cold. In winter cold in my case where I am pressure drops 3 psi easily. So I top up some air into each tires to compensate. It all depends where the threshold for warning is set.

What do you set your warning thresholds to?

My RXh cold normal pressure is 33 psi. I know system checks only low pressure. I'd set it to 25 psi.
