This technique has been around for a long time now. It is relatively easy once you get the sub out. You will have to follow these directions to remove your back seat. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...reclining.html
After removing the back seat you solder a wire connecting from the speaker input to the solder point on the center of the woofer. Took 2 mins to solder. Here is a pic from someone on Facebook who also successfully repaired theirs and gave me the idea. The speaker turned out perfect. I was able to play at max volume without any side ieffects. Safe to say this is a permanent fix. Also I ended up stuffing a small amount of gauge pad around the newly added wire to stop it from smacking agains the plastic bottom cover
Looks like the voice coil wire was kaput. He soldered a new wire in it's place. I agree with the other poster about using the wick...far more flexible.

that's awesome.. but that fix only works on a tinsel lead that is broken outside of the magnetic gap.. the actual voicecoil couldn't be repaired the same way... this will be a case by case basis

Ah, OK, I can see the break in the wire on the cone now.
