Front Licence Plate or Not?
#17
That sucks because I think the front plate ruins the look of the car but if you live in a state that requires it, you don't really have a choice. I got lucky.... Previous owners never drilled or put the front plate holder on and my state (KS) does not require a front plate. When I lived in MO, it was required and they WOULD pull you over for it.

Don't have one on mine either even though MN does require front plates. Never really been hassled for it since I bought the car. I've gotten pulled over twice for no front plate though, but a lot of times you can just say it's a new bumper and that you're waiting for a bracket and they'll let you go (it helps if your bumper really does look new) - I should mention the cops that pulled me over really had nothing to do. One had just finished pulled over someone on a bicycle. The only other time I ever had an issue was in Minneapolis when I got a parking ticket and they tacked on the no front plate ticket which costed $110 on top of the $45 parking ticket. This was largely my fault as I've parked in the same place countless times but I happened to park a little bit beyond the sign for no parking over night and got nailed with the tickets. Paid them and moved on in my merry way. The car looks much better without a front plate, so I've never really considered putting it on. I also ran no front plate on the Audi for a few years with no issues except for when I got pulled over for speeding. But in that situation I let the trooper know I was on my way to the dealer to get a bracket (I was actually on my way for scheduled maintenance at the dealer) and he gave me a verbal warning for both speeding and no front plate. It since has a front plate now since my family members drive it and I'd rather not have them have any issues. Other than that, no issues at all
